Just a comment and was my first thought instead of firing les, moving him to AD however people in the program know Les is hard working but had to be in total control sort of a micro manager type. Not sure this is a great asset for the AD job.

And what was your coaching record at an SEC school.
An Aggie once told me that joke about a dinner I had with RC Slocum during my son's best friend induction into the Aggie HoF.
Thinking about it RC and Les had a lot in common.
Early success, solid record, overall great guys, great defenses but ZERO offense. Same run philosophy, wore on their fans, couldn't beat big brother, and eventually got replaced.lets hope This staff isn't what Aggie endured.
Is that enough for you Smacker?

The majority of this board never hated Les the man/husband/Dad it just became apparent as the years went by that Les was not an elite coach. Too much NFL talent to be losing to the likes of Arkansas and Ole miss.

Is it because you are not now nor ever will be a big time head coach or any other executive in a position to offer anyone a job?

One of the best tenures in SEC HISTORY during the most dominant era of sec football ever really equals shitty coaching.

If you could guarantee me that Orgeron would duplicate Miles in the terms of longevity, wins, winning percentage and championships i'd take it right now. You'd be a fool not to.
We've played football on the Bayou for over 100 years and he's probably the most successful coach we've ever had - certainly no worse than second.
He wasn't perfect and it was time for him to go but GTFO with the he 'sucks at coaching football' bullshite.
Every word of this.

Football ignorant posters like you are why this board sucks at times. Please let me in on all the 63 year old head coaches getting hired in the last decade. There are 2 coaches in all of cfb older than Les Miles. Saban and Snyder. I love how dumbasses like you think being out of work for 6 months means he wasnt a good coach.

Saban loses to a far less talented team every year. Please explain how a lesser coach like miles losing 2-3 games is this huge underachievement.

Les the person, the recruiter, and the face of the program is/was great.
Les the coach was bad.
I have never heard of an anything but good things when folks run into Les out in public. Usually he goes out of his way to be pleasant and approachable.

No program beat more ranked teams
No program was ranked in the top 25 more weeks
But yeah I'm sure some mentally retarded person would deem those numbers as underachieving.
My god ive never seen a fan base more willing to shite on its own accomplishments than lsu fans.

Les got the superior talent to LSU. He won a lot of games bc he got the talent to LSU. He was great at getting the players. He was great at motivation. He did s great job for the most part at putting an exceptional defense on the field. He has just very offensively flawed as a coach. That was his demise.

There are very very few cfb coaches that can recruit at an elite level and are elite level game day coaches. Thats what makes them the best coaches in cfb. Urban Meyer loses 2 games a year and he widely considered the 2nd best coach in cfb.

So what does this say about all the other LSU offenses?

"Did he earn"
Any LSU football coach who wins more overall games in his time here than any other SEC program did from 05-15 earned a lot of respect from me. And he did that at a time when the SEC was the strongest it has ever been in SEC history.
Those who fail to see that LSU football was on a run the likes of which LSU has never seen before in a 120 yrs of LSU football for much of the Miles time here are SEC/college football mentally challenged.
While it can't be denied that 10 L's in his last 2 yrs and 4 games is not acceptable at LSU, it also can't be denied that the overall success LSU experienced under Miles, 2nd most wins in the SEC and top 4 wins nationally, is the greatest period of excellence in LSU history under one coach.

Les would be terrible. An AD needs vision and imagination Les has very little of either.

He would be light years better than the clown show we have now and I'm not even saying Miles would be a good AD.
