How? They actually played a top 4 team last year and a top 10 team the year before. This may be a top 10 team when it is all said and done.
The first year they gave it away to FSU when Daniels was afraid to make a mistake AND THAT WAS YEAR 1. Last season FSU was just better because the defense sucked. This season the broke in a new QB AND THAT GUY DIDNT HABR 2 of his top 3 receivers for that game.

IT IS NOT REALLY HARD TO FIGURE OUT.

How is it that Kelly seems to grossly overestimate LSU's capability every year? Every year a different group is the best he's ever seen, then that group is the problem.

It seems that either he sucks at evaluating teams or he can't adjust to a higher level of competition.

This is what I can't fathom.

Both previous years the team has gone on to find success, but why on Earth does he look so lost in an opener that he has had all summer to prepare for?!?

mizzou win ended up being nice against a good team but was not a big game at the time. There was no national interest. Ole miss 2022 was close but they were an 8-5 team

You can’t have it both ways.

Either Ole Miss was big, or Missouri was big.

UT was no bigger than Ole Miss.

My point still stands…

You guys seem to have forgotten what he inherited.

In two years (and one game) he has taken the skeletal remains of a program and made it competitive at the highest level.

In two years he went from inheriting a team with a losing record, and a decimated roster, to TWO 10 win seasons, an SEC West Division championship, and a Heisman trophy winner.

Included in that run were top ten wins against Alabama, Ole Miss and Missouri.

Only two losses weren’t competitive (FSU away and Tennessee at home).

I get it, you don’t like BK.

But saying that he can’t win a big game, or calling him a failure doesn’t compute for me (at all).

Again…don’t jump back on the train later this year when this team wins some big games.

Do you really think LSU played like shite in that game?

Moments, sure. Overall? I don’t see it.

Even with a whole summer, a new OC and a new DC (and staff) is something that can cause hiccups. Such is life.

I still say this team is legit.

Time will tell.

Bad hires. House was bad, Sloan is a bad promotion. It’s looking like a perpetual game of whack-a-mole with bad coaching. Fix one thing, break another.

Blake Baker and especially Bo Davis are great. Our defense wasn’t stellar but they got the most out of their players. If we did the same on offense we would make the playoffs.

We are not loaded but we have the talent to be in the playoffs.

Hate to break it to you, but given that Kelly took over a complete rebuild two years ago, EVERY SEC game has been a big game.

Kelly is 12-4 in the SEC since taking over, including two wins over top 10 teams in Bama and Ole Miss and a road win over a good ranked Missouri team.

We’ve had three hard fought losses in neutral site openers against ranked P5 opponents, but we’ve also won both of our bowl wins in impressive fashion.

Your selection of “big games” lacks all perspective and objectivity. Don’t be such a teenage emo.
