I don't think this is important with the GM office we have in place. I'd rather just have a coach that can just coach.
With that said there's no way we hire Sheppard at this point in his career. Too risky. But he's very impressive and it's quite possible that we look back in 5 years and regret not taking the chance. I think we just have to live with that though bc the risk is too great

The current state of college football is only about 4 years old.
Nobody meets that criteria.
And don't forget: Kirby was a life-long coordinator with no head coach experience when Georgia hired him.
Kelly had 30 years of head coaching experience when he was hired by LSU.
