i think the better way to phrase it is that it shouldn't have been a 2-score game at that point and our starters should have been resting
LSU had 5 backups in on Miami's first scoring drive.
Queen
Stevens
Terrence Alexander
Kelvin Joseph
Kary Vincent
I mean let's not pretend that they were just running every starter out there during a 4th Quarter blowout.
Stevens blew a coverage allowing them down into the redzone, then missed the chance to pick off a pass in the endzone before Miami scored. So i mean you can't have it both ways. Want to put the backups in, then blame the offense for letting Miaim back into the game. We had our shot to close them out right then and there.

Didn't see it posted in the thread yet - K'Lavon posted this right after CEO announced he was done for the season.

The toughest part about this will be how Aranda changes his scheme. Against Miami, we used Chaisson's speed to force the tackles to bend out wide with him which opened up big holes for the inside backers to blitz through. None of the other outside backers have the speed like 4 to open up the middle, although they are all very talented players in their rights. The consequence of this will be less times that Devin White or Jacob Phillips is smacking the QB which is always a pleasure to see.

because we stopped trying to score.
I blame this shite on Steve Esminger!!
Should have kept the pedal to the medal. Could have been playing the 3 team defense.

Sad face, get better Chaisson!

conservative play let Miami back in the game
Miami being back in the game meant KLC remained in the game
it was a freak accident, it could've easily happened in the 1st quarter or next week vs SELU
ACL tears are so common now that you just know it's going to happen to somebody.
shite pettigrew tore his during a summer workout. I guess O shouldn't have had them working out during the summer.

Of course injuries can happen any time of a game, but this is why I was okay with White not being out there as much during the 2nd half.
This injury blows.

Other than the one play where he was unblocked, he wasn't necessarily beating his man one on one (unlike Key who was almost unblockable one-on-one). That said, Chassion has rare athleticism that opponents MUST compensate for. That opened up things for other guys. That was his biggest contribution.
I suspect we are going to see Delpit blitzing more to compensate. The only downside is that Delpit is also LSU's best "center fielder". So if he's blitzing, you're losing him there. Hopefully one of the other dozen Safeties can step up.
I know he didn't play, but I'm interested to see what Moore can do. He looked nearly as good as Chassion in the spring game.

Hoping for a speedy recovery!

I've not seen it pointed out, but that play should have been a damn flag. It's the definition of a chop block. You can't have on lineman engaging a defender up high and have another block low. This is the exact fricking reason this is a penalty. There should have been instant retaliation on their best defender. Show them what a Bayou Bounty really looks like. I'm only half serious. Like the half Chaisson replacement we will have for the rest of this season.

don't think it's gonna make much of a difference. he had some good plays but would run himself out of plays at times
Posted on 9/4/18 at 5:45 pm to pjgary
I think they both blocked him high. Not sure that is a penalty.

Bad news (for us) is that he might only have 1 meaningful season at LSU. That’s how good he is
The way I've seen it the past 10 years. We get 2 good years, take the junior year off, play safe, get drafted.
Nobody is here playing for 4 years, I don't understand how the other teams stop this
