Such a stupid and uneducated post. By contrary he is saving their arse. LSU used the state to hire a guy who had no interest in better himself and his team and guaranteed it using the state as collateral. Learn how things work.

He went on his tirade about protecting taxpayer funds from paying Kelly's buyout. This was a red herring because there is no chance in hell that the buyout, whatever it winds up being, will come from state money.
But by directing his minions at LSU to withhold Kelly's payment, LSU is now being sued. Guess who pays those lawyers? State taxpayers.
He grandstanded on being for the "little man" but in reality the little man was never at risk until the lawsuits started, which will actually cost the "little man," i.e. taxpayer funds

There may be some truth on this, but the Landry saving our arse part.....Landry is worried about his own arse and that's it, any saving of anything else is PURELY coincidental.

I don't know about him being a plaintiffs attorney, but evangelfan's profane post castigating "low IQ" voters and posters is a very impressive display of aggressive ignorance.

I agree that his loyalty to ULL isn’t a driving factor for him to be doing this. What I was more implying is that he is a ULL grad so the likelihood that he actually pays attention to how the LSU Athletic Department is funded, operates, or does anything is probably very low.
He should be tackling all the wasteful spending that the LSU and Louisiana system does with all the 4-year campuses with abysmal graduation rates and exploding administrative costs but, exactly as you pointed out, neither of these issues gets him National notoriety and improve his positioning for a federal appointment under Trump so he won’t address either publicly.

Best thing for the state. He could hide his true colors by dodging debates but he can’t hide all of what he’s doing to the state. He’s wants to be 1 term and done and weasel a way into President Trump’s entourage.

Like how he killed the barataria diversion project, or neutered the tort/insurance reform, or how he spent not an insignificant sum to truck in Omar, or how his current meddling in privately raised donations are spent is impacting LSU football? The businesses being built here were already moving to LA, the educational reform was already happening.
This latest stunt is making him look more and more like 2nd term Jindal by the day.

Landry is one of the more odious political hacks i've ever seen. That display where he said Woodward would not pick the next coach was one of the more embarrassing events in this state. Dropping Trump's name and stating the taxpayers incur the cost for Lsu coaches was so damaging to the state and the LSU football program. This was the last thing the state and Lsu wanted, and that embarrassment was spread throughout the sports world and media.

I think using the state $$$ to backstop the buyout was what got Landry involved … and rightly so . I can’t believe that Tate and BOS let that clause go in the contract . I dont think Landry was trying to undermine LSU in any way . LSU football is going to be fine … everybody take a deep breath and relax .
