Why does Songy say "it doesn't look good" for D Byrd while other reports say he is going to be ok?
Songyhe rambles on and doesn't have a clue what he's saying. Crappy reporting is his standard M.O.
Seriously, all the best to Byrd.

It could be the fact that this guy has millions coming his way and his insurance company and his agent are being extra extra cautious to make sure A) the insurance company doesn't have to pay out claim B)NFL teams will have no doubt that he is perfectly fine and there are no possibilities of lingering effects.

another pft update-
LSU wide receiver Demetrius Byrd’s injuries aren’t considered life-threatening or career-threatening and he’s expected to make a complete recovery after being involved in a car accident Sunday in Miami that has left the NFL draft prospect hospitalized in stable condition, according to a statement released by his agents.
“We are saddened by the news that our good friend and client, Demetrius Byrd, was involved in a car accident yesterday in Miami, Fla., and based on early reports, we are optimistic that he will make a full recovery,” David Dunn, Byrd’s agent, said in a statement released a few minutes ago. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Demetrius, and with his mother, Sharon, and the entire Byrd family.”
Byrd has suffered several injuries, hurting his shoulder and ear lobe while also suffering scratches and bruises on his face and arms, according to a source close to the situation.
Still at the intensive care unit of Jackson Memorial Hospital, Byrd has been receiving hourly CAT scans today, per the source. Byrd was on his way to church when his car was totaled during the accident.

I perform CAT Scans at a hospital around the BR area and I have NEVER done an hourly CAT Scan on a patient before. It doesnt mean it couldnt happen, doctors can order ALMOST anything.
As for how often it depends what they are looking for, the only procedure that would be repeated in this case is a CAT scan of the Head/brain looking for a hemorrhage/bleed and usually they perform them once every 24/48hrs. t

Also could be CT of the chest watching for bleeding. A main organ spleen or liver.

Speculating on what round someone will or should get drafted in, and hating on somebody thats in the ICU are two very different things.

1- i would guess that there are several reason for hourly CTs
there are way too many conflicting reports to say exactly if any of this is true beyond he was in a car accident and at least was injured to some capacity
2- whether someone is being critical of draft stock or they have a personal vendetta, whatever, i think no one here would wish ill will, especially of this magnitude on anyone ... i would like to think so anyway

I doubt they're doing hourly CT scans. Maybe every 4-6 hours to watch a small bleed to make sure it doesn't get larger.

Obiously we all hope he makes a full recovery and is able to fully enjoy the many blessings of his god given talent.
As for these reports, I would think as the story progresses there will be many corrections/clarifications. I agree w/ you. Some of it just does not make sense on the surface.

WAFB just reported that they had spoken to his mother and that his injuries were not life threatning.

I personally could care less about his performance on the field this year, I just hope that he recovers and has a chance to go on to the NFL and prove all the doubters wrong. I sat next to his mother and sister at last year's spring game and truly enjoyed the time. You can tell that he was raised right and the fact the he was hurt going to church backs that up. Just praying for a speedy recovery.

God bless him and his family. I will say a prayer for him.

Byrd has been receiving hourly CAT scans today,
That frequency of CT scans suggests concerns of brain swelling.
And I think the comments about "full recovery" came from his agent; which makes them suspect. All about protecting draft value.

Good luck, Demetrius. My prayers are with you and your family, hoping that the "not too serious" reports are the legit ones.
