Or do you just watch, fearful that this might be the game that ruins YOUR MNC dreams. What a bunch of bullshite.

Sometimes I think the BCS has been bad for college football because it seems no one is concerned with winning conference championships anymore. Beforehand winning the SEC was a big deal. In fact, many of us celebrated the 2001 championship as if we'd won the national championship. Now it really seems as if, if we don't win the BCS, no matter what else we do, the season is a bust to many fans.

With Crowton will depend on how good Mett is. Without Crowton, I like our chances with our current talent and would say yes.

Thank you. You are so right that it is sad and you can expect to be blasted soon (along with me) for "accepting mediocrity").
Part of me hopes this thread takes off and the nattering nabobs of negativity pile on. Will be a nice bump in January 2012 after we have won three championships (West, SEC and MNC).

Championships? Shut up and be happy winning 9 games a year.

LSU can probably get it done with Chavis.
Crowton.. no way.

However I dont think we will because of Chavis. He was a solid hire given the circumstances, but he's an avg DC. We struggle mightedly against the spread and against a mobile QB. In general, you need a stout defense to win a championship but with our schemes and players wearing down at the end of the year, doesnt look likely.
I don't think there's anyone in the coaching profession that would say Chavis is an "average defensive coordinator". That's just nonsense. As for defenses wearing down, its apparent that some of us have short memories. Bo Pellini's defense also "wore down" towards the end of the season in 2007. Part of it is just that..............physically getting worn down and the other part is, teams have more film to study your tendencies. All you need is a defense that's good enough to get you a chance to win. Our defense this season did that.

Even with Crowton we will have a QB that CAN get the ball to our brilliant receivers. Crowton won it with Flynn. I'm not really a Crowton fan - just sayin'

Let's pull it back to SEC championships, or SEC West championships. If you don't expect these type of championships on a regular basis, your expectations are too low.

I think if LSU doesn't win a division title ever fourth year changes should be made. What about most of you Les asskissers? Every 6th orx7th or 10th or what. I know like like to state his awsome record vs the Univ of LA (insert small city) record so save that shite. How many years between division championships?

WHOAAAA NELLIEEEE!
How did my thread about the prospects of winning championships with our current staff come to this, i.e., not enjoying the games?
I love LSU and enjoying discussing our football team, history, games, players, future from all angles.
I think most fans enjoy winning, excellence, and dominance more than their alternatives. Don’t you think most enjoyed the ’97 UF game more than the ’93 one? I’m still enjoying our most recent win over Bama. I get just as excited going to the games now as I did as child. And when we win a championship people know AlwysATgr is smiling! You can do both; hope for the best and enjoy the games.
As for the OP, I’d really like to know what my fellow ranters think about the topic.

that's a cop out..
true LSU fans should recognize the amount of talent they have.. yes 10 wins is nice, but to struggle the way they did to win even those 10 games was so unnecessary.
this is a national powerhouse whether some want to admit it or not.
there is NO Excuse for 7 td passes all season. the only team in the entire NCAA with less was Army with 5.. downright disgusting..

EXACTLY. Two touchdowns by PP7 on special teams and the Tennessee 13 on what should have been the last play of that game is the difference between 10-2 and 7-5.

True.
But if Crowton is here next season, which I highly doubt, because, well more than one reason but he does this to QB's:

That is pathetic. I've seen some really bad passing offenses under Houston Nutt, but 7 passing TD's total is even beneath him. Yall have some great receivers and tailbacks who can take pressure off the QB. There's not much room for excuses with the kind of talent on your team.
Yall probably won't agree, but I think yall should have had Lee as the number 1 guy all year, and not gone the 2 QB route (Nutt loved the 2 QB thing too, what does that tell you?).
Jordan Jefferson is a tweener. He's kind of an option guy, he's kind of a pocket passer. He's good at being a serviceable QB, but he's not good enough to dominate or take over the game at either running or passing. In college football, I think more and more you need a QB to be a consistent playmaker for you, not just a manager.
I think Lee could have developed a nice little play-action passing game if he had been given the nod from his coaches. But instead your coaches just went back and forth, not really sticking with either QB until the end of the season.
Passing game is so much about the connection between the QB and his WR's. It's hard to get on the same page as the QB when he's coming in and out of the game, and when you aren't dedicated to one brand of football.
You have to be able to throw the ball these days. Even huge QB's who run most of the time (Newton, Tebow) have decent (tebow) and good (newton) arms. When the hogs played MSU, Mullen had Relf throwing it all over us for a while.
Heck, Tyler Wilson came in for Arkansas against Auburn for three quarters and threw for 4 TD's.
If LSU keeps the same offensive system in place, along with JJ as the QB or a 2 QB system, then I don't think LSU is a top 2 or maybe even 3 team in the West next season.

Not as pathetic as your post:

We've watched LSU go to BCS and national titles. We were tortured for 10 years under Nutt. We've had to listen to your arrogant fanbase for years about how much better LSU is than Arkansas, how the rivalry doesn't mean anything, but then yall show up on gameday and cheer your asses off like it's the most important thing in the world and when you win you play it off like it was nothing.
The tide has shifted, and Arkansas fans are relishing this moment and aren't hestitating to say

You've been in the SEC since 1992. How many SEC Championships have you won? Just like Ole Miss.
Go back to knobville.
