Basically what he is saying is that Mett is an awesome talent but im going to start Jlee and Jefferson this year because they're seniors
Are you surprised...

JL and JJ are both terrible. Roaad is correct. Go with the terrible one that can run. How is this so freaking hard. JL has plenty of snaps, he has only played well occasionally.

The NFL seems to agree with SFP.

I certainly want to see better QB'ing than we have seen the last few years. People are just hanging on to hope.

Keiland Williams could make the NFL Hall of Fame and it won't change the fact that he was not as good a COLLEGE RB as either Jacob Hester or Charles Scott. Keiland's NFL success depends on him changing and actually getting better than the tip-toeing fairy we saw tote the rock his SO and JR seasons in Baton Rouge.

<------------ Charles Scott advocate his entire time at LSU.

So your entire contention is that the coaches wanted to lose?
Or they wanted a greater chance of losing?
Are you serious? I'm seriously starting to think your entire argument is satire.
I don't particularly care who pevails in this little rhetorical skirmish, but you are grotesquely simplifying your adversary's argument. I can only imagine you are doing so intentionally. No one is seriously contending that Miles "wanted to lose" or is "intentionally" starting inferior players. Rather, the more compelling argument (or troubling argument, depending upon your perspective) is that Miles allows his personal allegiances to skew his player assessment. It isn't that he knows JJ is the lesser QB and consciously makes a decision to play him nonetheless. Rather, the issue is that Miles' objective player evaluation is undermined by his genuine emotional attachment to upperclassmen. That is, he really regards JJ as the better QB because he wants JJ to succeed, irrespective of whether or not the empirical evidence supports that conclusion.
I'm not personally endorsing the argument I set forth above, but I think it is the one you need to confront. In my opinion, you can't dismiss the notion that MIles favors upperclassmen as the mindless blathering of people who think Miles "wants to lose."

I think there is going to be a mass suicide when JJ starts against Oregon.
The fact is, he is probably the best option right now. I remain hopeful that Mett will own arse in the Summer camp.

But he can complete a pass over 20 yards! THATS a huge plus!
I have seen him throw the oustide slant to the far side of the field, can JJ or JL do that? (I actually think JL can but just confuses what team he is on from time to time...)
I'm not expecting him to be a SEC caliber QB right away, I'm just looking for him to at least be a Div 1 QB, which would be a major up.

He was very fast but this was true for the most part. He also was very easily tackled. I am always amazed when people act like his lack of carries was some sort of crime committed by the coaching staff.

You have convinced me. Les Miles hates LSU. And moreover he hates the really really knowlegable fans like you. He plays JJ because he is trying to lose games and to piss you off on a personal level. I don't know why I didn't see this before. Lord knows you and a few others have tried to convince me. You and the rest of the Greek chorus of negatards have been preaching Les's hatred for the sacred traditions of LSU from day one. Now he is finally unmasked.
He is an Ole Miss plant. He is the ultimate undercover agent. He has singlehandedly ruined LSU football. All of those losing seasons he has delivered while at the helm should have tipped me off. But I was blind.
You saw through the camoflauge. You realized that what appeared to be wins were merely deceptions. They were actually losses.
You should have a statue raised in your honor for being so right about Les' continuing efforts to drive LSU football into obscurity.

Saying that coaches are intentionally playing a lesser guy over a better guy, is saying that coaches want the guy who offers them a greater chance of losing.

What is this based on? Give me some examples of inferior upperclassmen starting over better underclassmen because of emotional attachments.
Because people need to tell Jarrett Lee. . .his being at LSU for a year longer than JJ and all.
quote:Actually, you just affirmed that point. You say that they think Miles would rather lose than play underclassmen.

I doubt it. Most people expect JJ to start vs Oregon. Not many expect him to be starting by mid season, however.

I don't think either you are I know enough to make that kind of decision.

Actually, one ranter said Miles would rather lose with JJ than win with another QB.
You give the rantards too much credit.

To reach the next level, LSU will have to have better QB play. This is a no brainer. Either the new guy will have to be good, or JJ/Lee will have to improve dramatically.

quote:First off, I said probably.

Second off, I trust that the coaches like to make lots of money coaching football. If JJ starts against OU, it means Mett is not ready and JJ is the best available option.
quote:I have said game 3.

But I expect he won't start until he is the guy that gives us the best chance to win.

It depends on what Miles thinks gives a QB the edge. He is enamored with JJ's running ability an may give that weight over passing ability when considering the whole package. Who knows.
All I know is LSU needs better QB play than Lee or JJ has been able to give the team, to reach the next level. Should LSU get to that next level, I don't care who starts.
I just don't have faith in Lee or JJ based on what I have seen. Both have been inadequate.

les should just come and say it.. jefferson is our starter.. altho he pretty much did there i suppose.

Then why wouldn't he have that same emotional attachment to Jarrett Lee? He's actually coached him a year longer. Why wouldn't he want Lee to succeed as well?
