Dude stop it. Asking him to identify a drop 8 and take easy yards via an underneath route or scrambling is asking him to be perfect?

He had two very reasonable and easy options on this play. Stop with the nonsense.

Nuss will lose more games making these plays and Weeks will give up more long drives with stupid penalties. They both can't help themselves.

The penalty was on West Weeks, what routine penalties is he committing that you saw coming?

You replied to the wrong guy.

The play show 2 Receivers wide open and you bitch about the OC. If we throw the ball either one it’s a successful play…but we throw it into coverage because has Nuss has some kind of brain malfunction between last year and this year.

The reason Garrett isnt answering it is because he's not hurt. What doesn't add up is Garrett isnt living up to hype created by people remembering his 4k yard season last year in a different light than it actually was. He was poor last year too.

Crucial poor decisions aside, he definitely isn’t throwing the ball with the same “zip”

Doesn’t look good

Kelly clearly plays CEO and lets his coordinators coach.Problem is he is absolute dog shite at hiring coordinators. Joe Sloan is fricking killing us.

Dogshit- Denbrock and Baker say no. Both turned their sides of the ball around in less than two seasons. And one was an immediate hire.

Inconsistent- Absolutely. House gave us one ok season before falling apart. I get going with SEC experience, but he was a specific fit at UK, a program known for recruiting under the radar guys, keeping them for 4-5 years and coaching them up. His complex system required a lot of experienced upperclassmen to run it, and you just can’t guarantee that anymore. At LSU with the portal and NIL getting into full swing- his approach was out of touch with all of that and we all saw what happened.

I get wanting to keep some stability on offense after wiping out the defensive staff and Denbrock leaving, but promoting Sloan was an unnecessary risk and it has backfired. And Kelly could have corrected it this offseason. I do think

Atkins was a great value hire as a position coach this offseason and I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up as our OL coach next season.

Arm strength doesn’t just disappear. It’s been well documented by several people going back to plays he’s made over the last 3 seasons. He has no arm strength right now. That isn’t just a collapse of technique. That does not happen to the degree we are seeing

This doesn’t absolve the poor decisions, but it’s still a separate problem that is hurting what Nuss has typically been able to do well- hit short and intermediate throws in tight windows because he could get the ball out quickly with some zip. Without the ability to do that consistently, he doesn’t have anything to rely on at the moment.

If Nuss sees three D at the line and has a running back right next to him why wouldn’t he change the play from a pass?

It's difficult to argue against this photo.

The only issue I have with what you're saying is that if GN isn't injured, why has he been throwing much worse passes this year? He has absolutely no zip on the ball. His throws were so much better last season. He clearly appears to be suffering from some injury.

This is, IMHO, the bigger issue. We showed against Clemson we can win with a ball control offense, running screens

The misdirections and screens we ran a ton of work great vs a defense that wants to play a lot of man and pressure the QB. Clemson tried and our scheme worked because of it.

Pretty much everyone else (especially LA Tech and OM) dropped 7 or 8 into coverage and played a lot of zone. We are still passing in the flats and throwing some bubbles to the WRs, but the traditional screen game is useless vs a drop zone. And the misdirection is less valuable if guys are in zone and most of the back 7 facing the LOS after the snap.

That stuff will work vs some teams we will play down the road, as many DCs don’t like to play a lot of zone and won’t adjust to do it more just for one game. But something has to be done to scheme around what is killing us right now.

After years of cumulative injuries in the NFL. These are the worst examples you could possibly pull out. And neither had a cannon to begin with.

As for Nuss, go back and watch his deep balls in the 22 SECCG and tell me something isn’t up.

Damn. Drew fricking Brees

It may be that whatever injury he truly has, exact knowledge of it wouldn't serve him well in the upcoming draft. Thing is, his poor performance is going to kill his stock as much as anything.

Also, BK should be more focused on winning and playing the best players that give the team a better chance. I could understand if MVB had no experience whatsoever, but he has almost an entire season worth of gametime experience in SEC play.

I'm traumatized from the Miles years and this is borderline Miles-type stubborness.

You asked for people who had arm strength disappear without a focal injury to explain it.

There they are.

Maybe nuss has had stuff accumulate.

I don’t care why it happened. I don’t care if he’s injured or not.

It’s hurting the team.

I actually agree that Nuss may have some type of brain problem if he is not physically injured. Something is not right, he just does not seem like he is fully engaged mentally and his demeaner on the sidelines says something more than physical is wrong. If it is physical, then Kelly should be fired immediately for not saying so and for not at least putting in VB for a series or two to let the fog clear for Nuss and to evaluate what a mobile QB might bring to the game. Nuss not running when the opportunity is there may actually be the telltale sign he is hurt and does not want to make it worse.

Jayden Daniel would've gotten 40 yards running the ball in that scenario.
