The bat flip for a walk did not bother me. Sort of felt like competitive spirit trying to scratch out an impossible win doing anything he could.
I am 55 which I suppose is old but having pitchers do all this screaming and back-flips off the mound at the end of an inning annoys me. Like WRs showboating after a 4 yard catch or a DB flexing after making a tackle 17 yards downfield. If it is truly a big moment then yell and pop your glove as you run off the field.

product of the travel ball culcha, back in the old days a 10th of the celebrations(usually choreographed,) would result in either outright fights or at minimum, somebody on the other team is going to get beaned

I have a lot of respect for LR's coach. He knows his team's strengths and weaknesses. Although he doesn't have the talent that LSU has, he didn't let that deter him from coaching a good game. He deserves a substantial raise this morning, and the players should be given some NIL deals as well. If I were on Jay's staff, I would try to recruit their catcher, center fielder and third baseman, and I would also check to see if Canu has any eligibility left.

I’m entertaining a strong arse offer for Cano at present.
Why? He shot his entire wad in a three game stretch. You want another .220 hitter who is slightly out of shape and didn't field all that well?

I don't think their future is bright, weren't half of them seniors?

this week was their entire season, maybe the highlight of their program, they had an overall losing season(19-32, 8-16,)then played out of their asses and above their heads in Baton Rouge, good on them for capitalizing on their moment in the sun, but let's get real here

So you have the utmost respect for him because as a paid professional coach he did the following:
1. Knows his team’s strengths
2. Didn’t quit because his team has less talent than a blue blood program

They’re a well coached team. Coach Curry recruited me to my juco before taking the job to Northwestern St. He’s a tough and intense coach and demands discipline and buying in to the team “we over me, gritty over pretty” concepts. Very proud to see that team do well and him finally getting the praise he deserves.

I say next visiting team we ban them from entering the Marucci shop and they have to use their old bats

A team is often a reflection of their coach. I hope that if anything, LR’s coach is now on the radar for bigger and better opportunities.
His players conducted themselves well and didn’t back down or cower to the raucous environment.
The coach even fully admitted adopting the “hold the rope” mantra from LSU. That’s an indication of his humility and his knack for being a motivator.

Only thing I didn't like was Malcolm Brown laughing when they put Curiel on base to face Bear...

They’ve got a great coach and their players take after their coach unlike sawed off Vitello who teaches their players to act like complete assholes
