Well, Mett didn't throw for 500 yards and 5 TDs. The defense blew a couple of plays in the first game of the year against a cupcake.

We are fricked. Well, maybe we can beat Bama next year. They are unbeatable again and will destroy every team they face. Les needs to go. We need to get Saban back.

Who said there's no confidence in the passing game? Who said what they did tonight wasn't the game plan? The WRs seem to be happy with their play. They weren't dejected like you saw last year when Amos and Andy was playing.

The only lack of confidence I see are from fans posting on a forum crying about the lack of yards.

Most of the game looked exactly like last year's O. You can see Mett's talent, but we need to go down the field and be able to pass block for that. Mett should develop a lot with playing time as well.

it's a philosophy issue.

Our head coach does not believe in seasoning our QB until we are in a huge game."

That's not good enough and everyone here and in that locker room knows it's not good enough. Les definitely has some balls, it takes lots of balls to be as stubborn as he is, especially after what happened the last 3 games of last year.

The offense isn't even close to being good enough to beat Bama, we're running the same damn plays, over and over and over. Until the last drive how many times did we actually throw the ball downfield? All these bubble screens aren't going to do shite against Bama. Yeah I know, we aren't playing Bama yet and it's the first game of the year. The same thing was said the last 4 years. Eventually the vanilla offense has to be recognized as LSU's true offense. I wouldn't be worried if we were trying things, but we're not, we're doing the same shite we've been doing. There's no logic/rhythym to our passing game, I get the feeling we have about 3 or 4 passing plays and we just throw them in here and there between all the dives and hope they work, there's no strategy to it.

"The offense is what was expected. You pussies that keep complaining about the passing game are just that. Criers. 300+ on the ground, you don't need a passing game."

REmember last year when everyone thought this? And then we struggles against Arkansas the first half, and couldn't get a first down against UGA and then couldn't cross midfield against Bama? When you're playing good teams and the games matter, you can't be one dimensional. Right now I have no faith that we can be forced to pass and succeed. It's a good thing the SEC is not as strong as a few years ago and we are so talented. Of course the bad thing about that is you get to the national championship game and figure out you haven't properly prepared your team.

The LSU "fans" around here are getting bitchier every year. It used to be kind of humorous. Now its just sad.

They're playing next week vs Washington.

I'm sure the game plan will be the same as this one vs North Texas, right??? And the same game plan tonight will be installed for South Carolina and Arkansas as well

They have a very good QB. Maybe the best we'll see this year. And the receivers are talented. They lost their best back from last year, and the O-line is shaky at best.

Their defense is straight garbage. Just terrible.

So you think that was because of offensive philosophy or the fact that we didn't have a QB that could make the throws when needed?

Guess what man, there isn't much difference in our offensive philosophy and Bama's. The difference was they had a QB that could make plays.

that's exactly what I'm saying. Build some fricking confidence is the passing game. Bubble screens aren't gonna cut it. open it up. We all saw that fricking pass Mett zipped in there for a td. Give me more of that shite.

bubble screens build confidence in a QB any time a QB has a positive play it helps him get his feet under him helps him for later plays. I understand you want to see mett throw it down the field every play I wanted to see it to, but for a game like NT give him plays that he can execute and build up his confidence. He started shaky throwing balls at people's feet throwing a pick then in the 2nd half he threw a lot of screens, and then made a couple of huge down the field throws.

LSU has a culture of running first. It's been like 5 years since we had a 300+ yard passing game.

It won't happen overnight. But if LSU commits to the pass, it will progress as the season goes on.

They came out passing quite a bit tonight, but once mett got hit a few times they pulled it in because he cannot get hurt for this team to succeed, especially in a throwaway game vs. North Texas.

What you need more than anything is efficiency in your passing game. You don't really have to throw for a ton of yards, if you can keep a defense honest with your QB and efficiently operate your offense, moving the chains, scoring points, you're good.

I think we are gonna be fine. Les is not chip kelly and will not destroy a weaker team. I see no problem in not scoring 85 on NT. We got the win and seen alot of good things. One GREAT thing is that we have a qb that is very capable of completing a pass. Lets enjoy the win and take one game at a time and stop trying to compare or worry about bama.

what we need from our qb is to not F up and ruin our chances we have a stout defense who will shut down teams again this year. We have the best back field in the country and maybe the best offensive line too. If the QB can make big plays when we need them throw a couple of passes to keep the D honest and throw no picks then we are in good shape.

I'll take 200 yards a night and 1 or 2 tds a game from our QB that will take us a long way.

we aren't arkansas or texas or oklahoma or USC who needs their QB to perform, we are a smash mouth football team we need a QB who will keep things in check. Has LSU ever had a QB who has been the work horse of the offense? the only one that may be it is J Russ. The fact that we went 13-1 with two QBs who couldn't average 200 yards in the air shows we don't really need a QB. We just need someone who makes a good play from time to time.
