IIRC BK's contract was 23 pages, not long but actually on the short end for a 100 million dollar personal performance contract. Hows about you draft a significantly shorter one and post it for scrutiny.

What is funny? Seriously?
Because you want the Louisiana government, who’s easily the most corrupt group of frickups in the country, to get involved with private money.

We got to this point by lack of transparency. LSU is a state institution. The coaches work for LSU. I want the State to perform oversight of its institutions and employees.
The state doesn’t get oversight of shite when they aren’t footing the bill.
Get the frick out of here.

You realize lawyers draft contracts and review them? This has absolutely no bearing on who we’ll hire.

Ok man. All is well I guess.

Yes, private firms. Not the state AG.

The state funds the base portion of the coach’s salary as another poster correctly pointed out.

That poster was wrong.
TAF foots the entire bill and has since at least Miles was the coach. Maybe even Saban.

The State AG’s office literally reviews hundreds of state contracts a week. This isn’t something new.

So?

I was waiting on a post like that, but again, even if true, why continue to make all this fuss over it? Why the hell is any of this happening? I can't imagine any other school or state making all this fuss over it.

So Liz, who has stopped working entirely, will have law clerks look over the contract that 200 other lawyers have already reviewed so that Jeff can hold a press conference saying it’s all good.
Great. I feel better now. This was so necessary.

It’s crazy to me that I have to breathe the same oxygen as people like you. It’s obviously harmful to proper brain function.

I feel the same way about you buddy. Believe me.

Agreed. I would have been surprised if the AG’s office had not actually reviewed BK’s contract before the Board of Supervisors officially approved it. This is just a press release that confirms something that’s done with any state contract. It’s nothing to melt over.

Pretty entertaining watching you shift the goalposts from "bro he's just setting up a committee" to "of course Landry should be able to pick the coach and dictate his contract" over the last couple of days.

Wrong. It’s fricking dumb. It’s not the governor or AG’s business whatsoever. It’s 90%+ private money.
Landry is a moron

There’s no delineation of the portion funded by “boosters” vs. funded by the athletic department directly. TAF transfers like $30 million in football contributions to the athletic department each year, but how that money gets earmarked is between TAF and LSU.
Thanks baw. I didn’t know if “base salary” was like a biweekly check from LSU/AD or however they pay employees and the stuff to the LLC was a check from TAF every month or what.
You’ve shed some light for me

In my defense I never said it came from the state. I just said I thought it came directly from LSU/the AD
