Also, Louisiana high schools seem to run more spread-option and similar type run-based offenses, rather than the spread-shoot and pro-style offenses you see a lot of in Texas and California. Whether that is cause or effect I don't know, probably a combination of both.
Why is that? is it easier to implement? I ask, because part of my coworkers argument was that kids in Cali have better schools and therefore are smarter than kids in Louisiana and the south for that matter.

Can I ask how these three things correlate:
1. Skill (as reported by HS recruiting services)
2. Race
3. Style of Offense played in HS
...trick question. They don't!

Coaching in LA isn't as good as it is in other places so they just arbitrarily take their best athlete that isn't dumb as a box of rocks and put him at QB. Then they run the option/spread option and let him just create on his own due to superior athletic talent.

That question can also be directed to Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi,Tennessee, etc.

How does a State's education ranking have any effect on whether an individual can learn and execute a playcalling system?

This was not meant to compare black and white high school QB in louisiana. We decided to look at white QB simply because they seem to have more success in the NFL.

The elite athletes aren't playing soccer and field hockey in Louisiana... This isn't Maryland

This. It's been really dry the past few years, but the best QBs to come out of Louisiana 'recently' have been Robert Lane, Steve LaForse (sp?), John David Booty, RP, Randall Mackey, JJ, Terrance Broadway, Dak Prescott and Zack Oliver.
