I would say recruits care about 2 things above any others, winning and getting to the NFL. The fans have zero impact on that, neither negative or positive. Of course there are other factors that going into being the right fit. But, I find it utterly ridiculous to suggest that a kid wouldn't come to LSU because of what the fans say on a message board.

Oh I see, it's the message board's fault too.
Reasons why Orgeron can't succeed
1. Ole Miss administration hates him
2. Ole Miss media hates him
3. USC administration hates him
4. USC media hates him
5. Syracuse hates him
6. Les Miles sabotaged his team
7. Recruits just are dead set on going out of state

This site was created in 2002, and since tRant has always been full of criticism. Never stopped LSU from recruiting top talent, though.
Now all of a sudden an unqualified coach is here, can’t beat sun belt teams, State is pushing our shite in, we’re losing in chicken shite bowls and you think it’s our fault? That’s classic gold, right there.

I supported Miles his entire time at LSU. Well, actually after the way he handled business after the 2005 hurricanes. And he won a lot of games as the head coach. There could have, and probably should have been more victories, but he did a great job in my opinion and was a good ambassador for the school and the state.

I disagree with you about this. For what Miles accomplished as the head coach, the amount of hate the man got was insanely stupid. O on the other hand, really hasn't accomplished much of anything to date.
2 decent wins in 21 games is all he's got so far. Everything else is mediocre to average at best. In my opinion.
These are the reasons I'm not in the o camp at this time. Add the fact that the people that do support him have used every excuse in the world to absolve him of anything bad that happens to the program. And the hypocrites that shite all over Miles while he was here, are now bitching about how o should be given a chance and he's isn't being treated well. These things don't sit well with me.
If or when the man starts winning games that aren't against programs that are in shambles, like a majority of his wins so far, people like me will start to warm up to him being the head coach.

It'll never be the main reason but TD paints LSU in a far more negative light than any other team could do. How much it affects people is up for debate, but every recruit interested in LSU has looked up this board. Without question.

Isn't the coach's job to sell himself and the school to the recruit? If the coach can't say something to the recruit that's smarter than what the fans are saying, we need a new coach. Again, Miles had perennial top 10 classes and people called him every name under the sun on this board and even "bashed" him because he didn't win the right way.

No. Apparently the head coach is helpless in this recruiting stuff. He has to just hope the best players want to come to his school. There's really nothing he can do to convince kids otherwise. It sucks but it is what it is
