#1 pre-season has gone both ways for LSU in years past.

Preseason polls are never right! Ole Miss was #1 last season and they barely made postseason play.

I quit watching baseball shortly after the Regionals were set. I’m not sure how it ended for Ole Miss, but I’m sure they were terrible and that loser Bianco still looks like a doofus., not like that Vitello guy.

Jesus man you’re starting the “muh no talent” shite already. What do we need 5 Cy Young winners and Hall of Famers at every position to have expectations now? The “poor us” bs is getting out of hand.

Can’t wait till we lose a series in early March and the board goes bananas looking for new coaching candidates

They will loose it when we lose our first game.

What does this mean in regards to JJ? He's been at LSU for a grand total of one season.

Weekend starting pitching is greatly improved.

Plus this team will rake

Watch out for these Fighting Tigers in 2023

Until I hear this line from 23, Josh336, or any other legit baseball poster I'm writing you off

I like JJ, but hype is just that hype beat some fricking teams first before you get excited

Ole Miss was the exception not the rule everybody knows that doesn't happen very often, last time a team pulled something like off was Oregon State for their second

We have every bit of the offense we had last year, if not more. We lose Berry and Doughty, but bring in Tommy White and Skenes. I don't know how much Skenes will hit, but we also bring in freshmen like Kling and Neal that can absolutely swing it. Merrifield may even be an X factor and, if not, maybe it's Guidry or Nippolt or a healthy Dugas.

We are much deeper on the mound. I know the hype is about the front line starters, but we're just way deeper in talent, experience, and diversity than last year. We have more good options by a mile.

We have to pay attention to the infield defense a bit. We can quite simply piss games away against good comp with a below average defense. Make the routine plays, don't do anything stupid.

We're a much better team, if healthy, than we were last year and gave a regional a good run last year on the road anyway.

I agree that we should wait to see what happens, but I disagree with not being excited with what we have. We check all of the boxes until proven otherwise.

Lmao…just because I get pitched for another school last season doesn’t mean they’re unproven. The Air Force transfer is considered as a top 5 pick in MLB draft. You consider that unproven??
