LSU Baseball does NOT have the NIL money necessary to compete with the top 5 SEC schools when compared to their revenue sharing.
so much ignorance here. Should they have more in the revenue sharing? Yes. But LSU NIL in baseball is at the top of the sport with Marrucci, Nike baseball, Lipsey’s etc.

This puts LSU baseball at a competitive disadvantage as they are below average in the SEC when it comes to the money allocated. Other schools have allocated 1.5 million to 4 million. That came straight from Jay's mouth. I fear if anything would force Jay to leave it will be this situation. Yes, private donors can help but do we really need Jay to be a salesman and raise money for the program?

Women’s sports, so-called, should be abandoned.

Nuke the women's basketball and track and field budgets. That's $15 million gone. Why is the university spending so much money on those programs?

Membership in the SEC requires those sports. Don’t be an idiot on suggesting LSU bail on sports where we have 25 plus nattys.

NCAA baseball and in particular SEC baseball needs a big TV deal to get anywhere near the Basketball rev share numbers. I feel like baseball has been gaining alot of steam in the south last few years. We really need Texas n Florida to make it Omaha each year for the numbers. Florida vs Houston basketball Championship game averaged 18 million viewers, tho on cbs vs espn its a significant difference vs baseballs all time numbers. LSU was in 5 of top 6 viewed college baseball games of all time which is kinda the OPs original point. They deserve as much or more as anyone in college baseball even if its not a national draw everywhere. But nationally its just nowhere close to basketball. For comparison with football, Lsu regular season game against Clemson was 10.3 mil last year and Championship games in 2020 averaged 26 mil viewers.

2023 MCWS: LSU-Florida Game 3 (ESPN/ESPNU)
3.59M
2009 MCWS: LSU-Texas Game 3 (ESPN)
3.16M
2006 MCWS: UNC-Oregon State Game 3 (ESPN)
2.79M
2023 MCWS: LSU-Florida Game 1 (ESPN/ESPNU)
2.74M
2009 MCWS: Texas-LSU Game 2 (ESPN)
2.62M
2009 MCWS: LSU-Texas Game 1 (ESPN)
2.50M

JJ and the players couldn’t care less if the players $ comes from rev share or private Bayou Collective NIL. Don’t get in the weeds on rev share % by sport, players care about their comp not the source.

LSU is an outlier in this situation being that we have a viable baseball program and a good women's basketball team

If anything men's basketball should be getting the least amount. Least successful major sport and least cared about.

Then the program would never get better, that’s a foolish idea. LSU has already been hurt by the lack of funds going to the MBB program the last several years, causing us to miss on several highly sought after players.

triple it and just take it from MBB. LSU will never be a legitimate title contender....no one takes LSU basketball seriously......anywhere.

I posted this in one of the anchored threads

The question is where the real support for MBB with donors is etc.?

Everyone knows LSU is a baseball school since Skip but look at how gymnastics built up over the years and became what they are. It didn't happen overnight and took a ton of work. They won a Natty because of the fans supporting the program, they didn't just luck into it and have bandwagon fans jump on. They are now at the top of the sport and have an amazing facility, tons of fans and donor who will help. D-D put in tons of work to make it happen.

https://www.lsugym.com/gymnastics-training-facility/

WBB fans would burn down Verge's office if Mulkey called them out. They pack the PMac and have donors. Hell, they have a million $ dressing room.

Nobody seems to care enough to actually DO anything or give money to MBB. Most are just apathetic. It will take more than just bitching on TD to make a change.

They have to have support to get a good coach but how do you get the support without a good coach? It is a chicken and the egg type of problem.

Cutting any of the National Championship winning programs to save MBB will no go over well at all.

Baseball should be number 2 on that list

It should be a crime that basketball is getting more $ than baseball let alone women basketball. What a crock of shite that is. If I’m JJ I’d be annoyed.

Florida could care less about baseball.

Born and raised here just ask em. They’ll straight up tell you they don’t.

Every Florida fan I know says they’ll tune in a lil bit if they make it to the final but that’s it.

This is true but Jay hates asking these guys for money. Don’t get me wrong they write checks and don’t bat an eye. Jay wants something similar to what TN did. Allocate $750k to baseball. The first pitch banquet is tonight. They will probably raise $150K tonight. It’s sold out.
