I think the elephant in the room right now is the PMAC.

Woody and everyone knows that they have to do something with it.

If it was fine, then box upgrade would be quickly in the works.

But they are trying to figure out how to split hairs, and i think the next big project is gonna be either completely re-do or rebuild the PMAC.

They can’t do it all. Got it. But when they do something, it shouldn’t come out like this. If we are going to do something with the stadium, we should do it right. Whether it was seatbacks from the start, a solid batter’s eye, or putting a stop on a planet fitness sign disguised as a score board... a second scoreboard.

And just to note ell....i'm not happy with the box either. Its 11 years old and hasn't really improved much in its facade.

They need to do something eventually, they have to.

You make a good point about the PMac. It’s way, way behind any standard whether it be on a conference or national scale. I’ll give you that. I just can’t believe this was allowed to go through. Like I said before, I’m fine with a second scoreboard there. It’s nice for those in left. I don’t think the sun hitting it directly in the evenings should be an issue either. I just hate the blatant tackiness of it. How much it stands out. How there’s nothing LSU about it to match anything else.

The next thing for MBB is to improve the training facilities for the players and put the coaches offices at the practice facility.

I need to see the new scoreboard in person and in use.

The photo posted is at an angle, and I want to see it in use.

I saw it Friday night at the scrimmage, emphasis on NIGHT, and then again Sunday afternoon and the new scoreboard looks just fine.

Both days they had home and visitor example lineups displayed and everything was easily readable. They also displayed a photo of Trent Vietmeier and his stats from last season on about 1/4 of the upper screen and that looked good, too. I like it.

All I can figure is ell thinks that crane in front of the scoreboard in his picture in the OP will be there during games...

Good, I’d guess it looked fine when up and running.

I would prefer to see a berm out in that area where people can go to loiter and drink beer. I’ve never understood the industrial storage wasteland out behind the fencing. Can facility services use any other space for their stuff whatever it is out there? Thank you.

It all boils down to this. The grandstand is awesome, for the most part. The rest of the stadium is cheap looking crap. I get that you can't overhaul it at once, but there's no reason not to make small improvements each year. The black see-through tarp batter's eye just screams "we don't give a shite". That's the one thing that is just inexcusable to me.

I noticed the nice batter's eye in Minute Maid last weekend. I get that it's an MLB park and all but we could do a whole lot better than a scaffold covered with black trash bags.

A berm will never happen at Alex Box. I think it is time to retire this suggestion.

Not to mention that it has always been a dumb suggestion.

The first thing that needs to happen with The Box is moving the bullpens out of the field of play.

RIP Anthony Rendon.

Gotta agree, PF shouldn't have been part of the deal.

That looks tacky and terrible

I still am perplexed how much State, USC, and Arky kicked our arse in new stadiums

Makes ours appear to be a shithole

LSU will never do this, but would be cool to not see every square inch covered in ads.

Savannah, GA – The Savannah Bananas have announced that Grayson Stadium will become the first known stadium to go completely Ad-Free.

Starting this season, Bananas fans will not see any billboards or signage featured in the stadium.

“This is all in the effort to create the most Fans First experience in sports,” said Bananas Owner Jesse Cole. “We are relentlessly focused on a better fan experience and we don’t believe anyone comes to the ballpark wanting to be advertised to.”

The history of advertising inside of sports venues dates back over a century ago when teams began placing billboards on the walls of their stadiums as a way to generate additional revenue.

Today, often every single piece of real-estate – traditional and non-traditional- in a sports stadium is branded with a company logo.

This model simply does not align with the Fans First values of the Savannah Bananas.

“For as long as I’ve been in the industry, we’ve sold advertising and sponsorships for our teams and our ballparks. It was just what you were supposed to do. The focus was always to sell the big signs on the outfield wall or sponsor a night at the park,” said Cole. “What we see from consumer behavior trends is that if given the choice, people fundamentally choose to avoid advertising. So, we believe that Bananas fans deserve an ad-free experience.”

“Our focus will always be on serving our fans in a better way not capitalizing on the people we serve.” To replace the signage that traditionally went along the left field wall, the Bananas will pay tribute to the teams that have called Grayson Stadium home since 1926. A historical timeline will begin with the Savannah Indians and continue on to the present year of every team that played at Grayson.

The right field wall will now become the Savannah Bananas Fan Wall where fans will be encouraged to sign their name as a part of Grayson Stadium history. Before and after every home game, fans will be able to access the right field wall and place their name on a 16’x 40’ ‘Go Bananas!’ mark.

“We’re giving the stadium back to the fans,” said Bananas president, Jared Orton. “This is just phase one of a larger vision to continue to celebrate the history of Grayson Stadium while also creating the most Fans First experience imaginable. We’re thankful to the sponsors who supported us each and every year and we’re thankful they understand the future of an ad-free ballpark.”

The Bananas 2020 season at Historic Grayson Stadium begins May 28. The Bananas have currently sold out 88 straight games and set to sell out their third straight season in 2020.

If Sports Properties was the GOAT they’d secure 3-5 sponsors maximum at such a value where they don’t need the $10k from Ascension Ready Mix. And those sponsors would agree to color-tone their logos to blend with the respective stadium/scenery.
