LSU 2008 after 4 games: 4-0 ranked #3 in the country
LSU 2009 after 5 games: 5-0 ranked #5 in the country
LSU total offense after 2009 season: #107 in Division 1 FBS
LSU total offense after 4 games in 2010: #102 in Division 1
LSU first downs per game 2009: #87
LSU first downs per game after four games 2010: #108
We've been down this road before. Boooooooooooooo!
Also, there are many, many, many college football segments on ESPN. Can someone please pull up a clip of ANY of the ESPN "experts" claiming that "LSU is a well coached team and I expect them to exceed expectations this year/week." It just doesn't happen. Every ESPN expert claims that LSU is over rated and will face reality soon. Either that or they say LSU is too talented, so they'll pull out a win. Now they want to bash LSU fans for agreeing with thier own analyst.

I though it was funny when Wilbon said LSY hasn't had a good QB since Bert Jones. When TK brought up Jamarcus as a college QB, Wilbon said LSU was just a running team with JR.

Which underscores Wilbon's extreme ignorance and made his statement of LSU fans "hating" Miles null and void...

maaaan, people act like matt flynn wasn't shite. he was so under appreciated and underrated when he was playing for us. SCREW Wilbon, he's an idiot.

There are a lot of things Miles should be raked over the coals for. But Jesus Christ, that Tennessee game is not one of them.
In fact, I would concider that entire year his finest moment.
After Katrina and Rita, the team was gassed, you could see they were so tired the second half of that game. Tenn won, it sucked, but Christ, Miles kept the team afloat.
That team could have EASILY tanked the rest of the season, but Miles kept them playing well and won the SECW.
That Tenn game should be the easiest loss to get over in Miles' tenure given the surrounding events.
And I say this as someone who wants him gone.

Didn't we win something like 9 games in 9 weeks following the UT loss? That was quite an accomplishment, and I give Miles props for leading the team to a pretty successful year under extremely challenging circumstances.

Yes, that is my point. We were all dissapointed after the Tennessee game, but the people still stuck on that need to look at the big picture that year ans appreciate how good it really was.
Miles has given us all a number of reasons to not like/respect him. The loss to tennessee is not one of them.

So the UGA fans I hear everyday on the radio in Atlanta and read the vents in the AJC are all figments of my imagination. WOW!
And www.fireronzook.com and www.firemarkricht.com never existed
Did either of those guys ever win a national title?
Were they undefeated at the time?
In the Top10?
Were they the most successful coach in their school's history?
No, then shut it!

Hate to say it, but Wilbon is right. Winning SECs and BCS Championships haven't been enough. There's nothing this man can or can't do, that will please such a huge segment of the LSU supporters.
Unfortunate, but true

Can't stand anything this guy ever says. Was so glad when he stopped doing MNF.

Everything changes.
Just explain this one: From 1958 to 2003, why were there no other national champ games involving LSU?
All that talent in the state of LA, but it went to Nebraska, Michigan, Notre Dame, Stanford, Missouri, all over and the LSU record was nothing great, most years. You would see the bowl teams being introduced and both teams playing would have a guy or two from Louisiana.

Absolutely agree as well.

This. Add Colorado to that list. Shaw had a pipeine to the Big-8 all by itself. Michigan ALWAYS had starter on D from New Orleans. Say what you want about Lil' Nicky, but he put the fence up. All Miles had to do was swap out a few rotten boards every year. Even then, we've still had a few fence-jumpers (Nic Harris, McKnight, Reed) but we've still done well.
The fans see that and know what we can do. We just can't believe that La. hasn't produced one D-1 QB in the last five years, when the state has had Jones, Bradshaw, Williams, etc. in the past. There has to be a kid somewhere who can chuck the rock.

most high school qb's coming out of louisiana play a different position in college. most of our high school qb's are just athletes, like the kid from west monroe.
