Say what you want about Lil' Nicky, but he put the fence up. All Miles had to do was swap out a few rotten boards every year. Even then, we've still had a few fence-jumpers (Nic Harris, McKnight, Reed) but we've still done well.
Saban lost Nic Harris. Wasn't even on our radar when Saban left in 2005, then when he ditched us a month or two before NSD, Miles had to devote all he could to getting RP to sign.
Reed had a bad family life, so I can see why he left Louisiana. Wish he would have been a LSU Tiger, but wish him the best until he plays LSU.

listen, i don't boo my own team, but if you aren't here to talk football what is the point of posting anything?

Overall, Les has been good for LSU. Hes an excellent recruiter, and he appears to have surrounded himself with capeable coaches,
Were Doug Mallory, Bradley Dale Peveto, D.J. McCarthy, Earl Lane and Don Yanowsky capeable coaches?
Are Greg Studrawa and Gary Crowton capeable on the present staff?
ALL torn to pieces on here, but were all on the staff that produced the 2007 National Championship, except Yanowsky.
Chavis and Copper appear to be capable. Haley seems to be more capable this season and has the DL playing well so far this season. Joe Robinson is certainly capable and very good with special teams.
Jury still out on Gonzales, Wilson and Ensminger. Gonzales has NOT made a difference yet in teaching the WR's how to hang onto the fricking ball.
Gary Crowton is a mystery to me. I would like to see a real GC offense TOTALLY removed from ANY Les Miles influence or tampering. I don't think it would be anything at all like what we see down on the field now...........

I didn't see it for myself but last night on Gordy and Charles radio show they were talking about this very thing. Evidently, Gordy saw Belloti from Oregon (who hired Crowton and knew him very well) - Belotti commented on LSU's offense saying there was not one bit of Crowton's style of playcalling in what LSU is doing offensively right now.

MR. TONY is always right. Miles is the one getting booed. LSU fans don't like him. He has the highest out of conference record winning percentage and one of the highest in conference winning percentages of any LSU coach. He has won the SEC and won the BCS. His numbers are way better than the now beloved Cholly Mac (although he would have been equally hated if the internet existed in the 70's. LSU fans don't embrace him and never had and probably never will. If he wins another national championship this year it will only buy him a couple more years. The guy is in a tough situation.

short version - he's not Nick Saban. until LSU fans get over their obsession with "losing" Saban it's going to be very hard for a coach to come to LSU and be well-liked unless he wins and wins big. especially as long as Saban is on the sideline in Tuscaloosa.

Lets all be honest here. The real peoblem is not Miles it is Saban. Like one of the ole coaches used to say, you dont get fired for losing as much as you get fired for losing when you rivals is winning. If bama still sucked and we were battling Auburn for the title every year people would tolerate him better. But with Saban going undefeated and winning NC at bama, Miles look like the hot chick's fat ugly sister. That is how you lose your job. If Miles beats bama this year somehow, will everyone not back off him some and then began the just fire Crowton hire Mike Leach. I hope we get to see.

I won't say "hate" but I didn't like the hire from the start mainly because of how he left Ok St.
Very classless and showed much about his character imo.
And you think the way Saban left Michigan State was classy in comparison?

It looks just like this, FWIW.

absolutely. if Saban wouldve gotten hired at somewhere other than an SEC West or even SEC school and accomplished what he has at Bama in three years the vehement criticism of Miles wouldn't be nearly what it is. LSU fans just can't handle their old coach at a rival school doing what he did when LSU had him and more. while we've settled for mediocre seasons the last couple of years.

First of all,
I can't speak for any other Tiger fans but for me personally, your analysis does not apply. I can honestly say that if Saban was nowhere in the picture and we had a 100something ranked offense for two years in a row combined with a 8-8 SEC record, a stubborn coaching staff going about business as usual, bizarre and terrible playcalling, shitting your pants clock management, BS responses and coffee analogies...I would still be angry.
