Look he probably will not get drafted but after his pro day results I will bet you that he makes a team in free agency.
agree 100%

Thing is everybody on here is suprised that Danny Mccray is having such good pro day results bc everyone probably thought he was the worst db ever. My agruement is, when he played his natural position he wasnt all that bad.
I am happy for him and hope that he can get on a team. I know that they wont question his heart or willingness to get better. He has my respect. After losing his job or changing positions, he never complained or made excuses. He just played his best

After this post I dont even know what were agruing about anymore.
Just think he got a raw deal by the fans when it was obvious he was out of position. If anything the coaches should have deserved the criticism.

But, when I saw his numbers the first thing I thought of is maybe he can get drafted and add one more LSU player on that list... His numbers just showed me that he had the ability to be something but just didnt pan out for some reason... I hope it happens... He's a good kid with alot of heart.
I despise the sky is fallin negatigers and if I am coming off as one, it is not intended. I really hope he does great and I think a few eyes will be opened after seeing his numbers. I still dont think he will be drafted, but I have no doubt he will work his arse off to catch on somewhere.

Just sayin his pro day will not get him drafted, but I think he gets a chance as a free agent to catch on. I really like him as a person. I just question his football skills. Like I said, I dont wanna be right.

Well its just wait and see from here. Alright good talk. Im out.

Alabama's starting offensive guard, Barret Jones, went to the same high school as me and he said after the LSU/Bama game that Al Woods was the best defensive lineman he had played against all year, hands down.............. For whatever reason, he just didn't put up the stats

But Al Wood's pro day vaults his stock

He didnt have as far to go. You are just not gettin it. Woods may be ranked 10th at his position. McCray is 30th. You see how the vault wasnt enough for one as the other. I dont know their rankings, but I assume the gap is pretty much the same
Posted on 3/15/10 at 4:08 pm to Chuck U Farley
position rankings become irrelevant when it comes to the 6th and 7th round
they are looking for guys with upside, someone who can play special teams and fill in if possibly needed in an emergency.
McCray would be a poster boy for a late round flier, esp after his performance today

Ok Lester. Save this for April so you can throw it in my face if Im wrong. Based off of what you have stated, Woods and McCray are 6th or 7th rounders. Correct? McCray > CTaylor, McCray is = to Gay and maybe RClark. And Woods and McCray are even prospects and scheme played a big part with McCrays lack of production, but not Woods.
Ya think maybe a few pages back you started thinkin too much about winning an arguement, instead of rationally thinking before typing? You wont win this arguement. Just practice rational thought and youre half way there. Good luck.

you cant even understand what I am saying, so this sentence is null and void.
I never said al woods is a 6th round pick.
i'll try one more time in its simplest form;
you think Al Woods workouts have vaulted his status as a pro prospect, despite his so-so years at LSU. But you do not think McCray has helped himself at all with his good workout, despite his so-so career at LSU.
I'm not trying to win an argument. There is no right answer at this point dude. Just trying to say what u are saying makes absolutely no sense, and is contradictory. good day

How in the hell does chuck the truck run faster than brandon lafell?

Posted on 3/15/10 at 4:41 pm to Jsoula
Lafell has a long stride that takes a little more time to get going...I would bet Lafell has a slow start but his top end speed is right up there with the best of them....If you don't have a good/explosive start in the 40, it is tough to do much better than 4.5ish. Most of these guys have similar top-end speed but not all of them get off the line as fast.

I think that both have vaulted as prospects. I think Woods went from a 6th or 7th rounder to a 4th to 5th rounder. Maybe 3rd. doubtful, but maybe.
I think McCray vaulted himself from possible free agent to possible free agent. He wasnt as big a prospect from jump street. Great proday. Still not enough to get drafted. He may be invited to 5 camps instead of 2, due to his proday.
Do you get it now. I cant make it any easier for ya.

Nah, CUF is merely saying that Woods measurables at Pro Day and the combine are near off the chart for 300 pound men, especially the vertical, whereas McCray's are much more in line with the norm for his size and position, so not as likely to help him given his production at safety and nickle. In that regard Woods is a much more probable higher pick given the tendency of some clubs to believe they can turn any large highly athletic player into a high producer on the field. It is a shame Woods did not have a better career at LSU, he would be a lock for great money.

Thank you. Geez I thought I typed in English.

Glad to help. Who was that guy 6-10 years back that had a great combine and I think the Eagles drafted him 6th overall or close to that, he was very undersized but put up huge combine numbers. OLB/DE, Mike something I recall, didn't exactly have a stellar NFL career.

the vertical is nice, but pretty much useless for an OL
all his other numbers arent really

thats funny cause had Chad Jones put up the numbers McCray did, he would be labeled a "freak" and would be in line to be drafted in the 1st round.

Good thing he plays defense and is projected to do so in the League.

You do make a good point here. Cant argue that. CJ is also a great athlete, two sports. While DM is a great athlete its a much lower profile. CJ made plays, Not DM. Playmakin ability, ballhawk, headhunter. The names are words to describe a football reputatuion of sorts. Toast is not the one you wanna be labeled with
