did anyone notice RR grew an inch?

He doesn't need to carry this much weight. Lighter = quicker, which is the main characteristic of good cover corners. If he can do the same thing at both weights, why not carry less and gain a step? He weighs almost as much as half of our LB's and some DE's.

I saw a picture of him from the practice pictures and I didn't recognize him.

1. If he is running a 4.37 that big he is a monster.
2. If he still has elite speed what it wrong with him being stronger than opposing WRs.
3. After talking to a guy on the team last year he says Peterson is completely all business. He said he is definitely a guy do the extra stuff. He is planning on this being his last year.
4. I would assume that if he is all business he is making sure he is not giving up his ability to be a shut down corner just to get a little bigger.

This is the point some people miss. Laron Landry was freakishly big for a safety at 230 pounds - and he was legit 6'2" or 6'3". (ETA - Chad Jones measurables, my mistake.)
Peterson obviously has a big frame and very well may be effective at 220. He will be a more effective corner at 210 pounds, in my opinion.

Peterson looks like he put on 10 lbs of pure ink during the offseason.

Just saying but this is definitely false. Landry wasn't even 6'1 at the combine and was never 230 at LSU.

I must be thinking Chad Jones' measurables, then. Probably am. And of course he is not down at 210, so my point is not very well made...

I wouldn't too much stock into that. They fudge heights a lot. Jefferson has fluctuated from 6'5" to 6-4". Laron Landry was listed at 6'2 " while here (actually about 6' 1/2").

This team is ready for big things if the #1 concern on the rant is Peterson's weight. The guy shuts down anyone he covers, including two future first round picks. He's the last guy we need to worry about.

you can still be fast at that weight, but you lose flexibility.
and you turn into a guy like Taylor Mays or Laron Landry that have trouble turning their hips and running in coverage.
again there is no need to be that big as a CB. he can do the same stuff 15 lbs lighter and do it better

I bet it makes him a lot better jamming the opposing WR at the line.

at his old size he was still bigger and strong than most WR's. Thats my point.

Taylor/Eugene (189 + 195). Not that those are bad weights for them, but this is the lightest I can ever remember our safeties being.
Im not worried... we have a lot of options at safety for diff situations. Hatcher will def see a lot of snaps.
