Unless Bergeron and the transfers start hitting for power like they were supposed to, this team isn’t going very far. Close wins over the caliber of teams they faced this weekend will translate to results like they had in Clearwater once SEC play begins.
As to the expectations for this program, 3 exits in the last 4 years in the Regionals is unacceptable, but those thinking LSU should be in the WS every year or every other year are way overselling the inherent potential. LSU made 2 WCWS before Torina arrived. To some extent she is a victim of her own success, though there’s no excusing the last 4 seasons. LSU has average resources for the SEC and no natural recruiting base. They should make Super Regionals most years with an occasional WCWS berth. Torina had this program where it needed to be before COVID, but she’s running out of time to get it back to that level. I wouldn’t be opposed to a change, but I agree with those saying she won’t be bought out. She just should not get any more extensions.

Tori isn't off the hook either. Franklin has been the closest to consistent of the power bats.
