you miss the 1st quarter alot on 2;30 pm CBS games because TV stations will not leave Lincoln Finacial games until they are over unless a Miss team is in the 2:30 pm CBS game which is very rare.
FAT TUESDAY's in Ridgeland is also a good place to watch games.

When you get blacked out games when you are playing one of the Miss teams, BWW definitely carries them.
Watch for them laws when leaving, Rankin county is about as draconian as it gets.
Gotcha. But isnt BWW in Ridgeland? And Ridgeland is in Madison County not Rankin correct? And I will be driving back to Jackson (Hinds county) I wont have to cross into Rankin. But I will watch out for them nonetheless.

Thanks for the plug. But tell them to bring beer.

BWW is the best, but since we have so many Ole Piss asses here, it is almost better to watch it in the living room. State fans are not too bad, as the know their station in football life. Ole Piss OTOH think they should be mentioned with the big boys...

And yes, unfortunately I will be living in the city limits of Jackson, and yes I will be carrying a gun! And I can deal with Ole Piss fans.
I did 8 years in Jackson and its not the Ole Miss fans you'll need a gun for...
And get to BWW early. That place is insane on Saturdays during the season. As in 100 people lined up outside and the fire marshall monitoring 1 out - 1 in - type crowded. They must put crack in the beer.

I am not sure if you can see any LSU games there but you should go to Ticos on County Line Road less than a mile from the I-state. It is owned by a former LSU Golfer and Baton Rouge native. The last time I stopped their it seem to have a distinct smell of OM Rebels.

There's a pretty active TAF chapter in Jackson. They meet every Monday evening during the season. You should look it up and go to the dinner's. They hosted the Tiger Tour and had a huge crowd.

Jackson is the worst town in America. They have a reputation that both sides live up to...the whites and the blacks.

jackson is really no different than most other southern cities...I moved to Madison about a year ago and am fairly comfortable....
and yes...the alumni house is a very good place to watch games...there are a suprising number of LSU and saints fans here....

Jackson isn't that bad. I live within the city limits and there are parts that are bad but some areas are really nice. Of course, the suburbs of Brandon and Madison are where most new development is happening but some areas of Jackson are having millions poured into them. Where are you going to live in Jackson?
I definitely say either Alumni House, BWW, or Sportsmans Lodge - which is in Jackson. Also, try the Cherokee. And the Saints having their training camp here is the best thing going.

I live in Madison. Ridgeland is in Madison County. Jackson is a city rotting at its core. I would not live there. Alumni House is better than Buffalo Wild Wings because of the recliners. I almost got into a fight last time I went to Sportsman's Lodge so I won't go there to watch the LSU-OM game anymore.

I own a business in Jackson and the crime is not that bad. However, I do live in Ridgeland and my house is THE PLACE to watch the TIGAHS!!!!!!

Might meet you some day at the Alumni House.

In my opinion Alumni House is the place to watch LSU games. I have been told that one of the owners has LSU connections (graduate or huge fan, not really sure which). Alumni House has personal tvs in every booth as well as recliners to watch the game in. I have found that BWW is always packed and its hard to get a table on gameday. Also, Alumni house has one room decorated with LSU signs, jerseys, pictures, etc. its pretty cool. Its on Highway 51 in Ridgeland. On a side note, pay attention when you are out in Jackson. I am there every day and there is a lot of crime but not necessarily always in bad areas of town. Just trying to give a heads up to a fellow tiger!

I move to Ridgeland on Friday. I start law school in Jackson, but thought it would be better to live in Ridgeland. I'll have to check out the Alumni House...

Yeah I definitely think you would be better off living in Ridgeland. Its safer anyway! I watched the first game of the Super Regional at the Alumni House this year and had a great time minus the losing part. Food is not bad but the personal tv thing is nice!
