This just tells me the UF administration doesn't give a damn about people's well being. It's all about the dollar to them.

And they wonder why people dislike the SEC. Certain fan bases and administrations put sports before human life.

Or they feel Gainesville is far enough outside of the severe impact zone.

Most hotels in BR, sold out this weekend, causing an issue of finding rooms for team Yeah I dont believe this.

There is a big track meet at highland road park and a huge soccer statewide soccer tournament at the Burbank fields. We had trouble getting a room for this weekend due to these and the fact that many rooms are still occupied by flood victim/cleanup workers.

Hotel room availability is a terrible excuse.

didn't our AD say yesterday was our deadline to allow florida to move the game to baton rouge? with good points that law enforcement, vendors, stadium employees, etc. don't work on an on-call basis. have to know by wednesday to put all the pieces into place. considering this happened just last year there is a good precedent set.

UF's student newspaper is already posting about gas stations running out gas in Gainsesville. So much for that out of the impact zone thinking.

Yeah but I'd hope we could throw it together late if they decided at noon to move it. Who knows if that's even possible.

i don't think the time of day has to do with it. it's flat out if we are playing saturday or sunday we have to know by wednesday to let these people know they are working on the weekend. now that's not to say they can't test the waters to see if it could happen or maybe ask them to volunteer to be on stand by. but it sounded like a hard line with was drawn on wednesday by lsu.

If they did in fact declare a state of emergency in the city of Gainsville, the police are controlled by the State and FEMA now. It's out of the hands of UF.

Now this is just comical. The conference call among UF, LSU and SEC officials has been pushed back to 2pm CST. Somebody has to take control

Is LSU getting things in place in case we have to host?

Meh...they're hoping for good news at this point. Waited too long to move the game so my hunch is they're hoping to be saved by a better looking model before they have to cancel it outright.

The idiocy displayed here is unbelievable. Seriously, it's truly incredibly unbelievable. After this fiasco, a policy needs to be put in place with a firm reasonable deadline for making decisions on moving games that allows for time to prepare an alternate site regardless of where that is. This waiting to see what a storm is going to do is just stupid. It could change at any minute. Make the decision and so be it. As long as teams' and fans' safety is handled, that's the way it should go. If the storm comes, the right decision was made. If it doesn't, the right decision was still made at the time.

I never cared if we played at home or at a neutral site, though at home was logical. I cared that safety was considered.

This is now just silly.

My guess is UF was hoping things were going to improve but they have, in fact, gotten worse...gas lines, state of emergency declared, etc.
Now to save face, UF will ask for cancellation and try to make LSU look bad if we don't go along....

I believe F King indicated it's too late for that yesterday.
