In this scenario they can't slip past the Cotton(couldn't go to Outback).

not according to this

quote:

There is a slight chance a last-minute curveball could leave LSU out of the Cotton again.

In a rule put in place after a 10-2 LSU team was in danger of tumbling far down the SEC’s bowl pecking order after losing the 2005 SEC Championship Game, the SEC requires the Cap One, Cotton, Outback and Chick-fil-A to rotate being the so-called “safety-net” bowl for the championship game loser.

This year, the Cotton Bowl is contractually obligated to fill that role. That means it would be required to take the Auburn-Missouri loser if that team is passed over by the BCS bowls, the Cap One and, in Missouri’s case, the Outback.

Such a scenario would possibly send LSU to the Outback, the Gator (also Jan. 1 in Jacksonville, Fla.) or back to the Dec. 31 Chick-fil-A in Atlanta

No, A&M

I agree with you that this a real possibility. In fact I could see A&M with Manziel being more highly coveted even with the extra loss. But I do think the SEC does try to influence the bowl selections as much as possible. And I think they would at least try to get LSU the invite over A&M (especially considering it would mean Chik FIl A again for LSU).

after the insight I just posted I need to update by predictions

If Auburn Loses

BCS teams Mizzou/Bama

Scenario 1
Cap one Auburn
Cotton LSU
Outback USCe

Scenario 2
Cap one USCe
Cotton Auburn
Outback LSU

Scenario 3
Cap one USCe
Cotton Auburn
Outback UGA
Chicken or Gator LSU

other scenarios could put aTm in cotton but I doubt that happens

I think Scenario 3 is very unlikely because I don't see the outback passing over us for UGA

Auburn beats Mizzou

Auburn/Bama BCS teams

Scenario 1
Cap one USCe
Cotton LSU
Outback Mizzou

Scenario 2
Cap one USCe
Cotton Mizzou
Outback LSU

Scenario 3
Cap one MIzzou
cotton LSU
Outback USCe

Scenario 4
Cap one USCe
Cotton Mizzou
Outback UGA
Chicken or Gator LSU

Again I think Scenario 4 is very unlikely but possible

I would say Scenario 1 is the most likely
Scenario 2 2nd most likely
Scenario 3 3rd most likely but almost 2nd.

As was said in the prediction thread

LSU's chances in rank of Order for bowl games goes like this

#1 Cotton
#2 Outback
#3 Chicken
#4 Gator

3 and 4 are very unlikely
1 and 2 are very likely

Call me a negative nancy, but I don't like our chances vs Clemson this year without Mett and our D. Why can't we face a Texas or Nebraska? I don't even think the LSU turnout in Atlanta was good last year anyway.

LSU would sell about 666 tickets to that game if it actually happened. Jeaux should resign if he let that scenario geaux down again.

LSU fans really don't want to go to the Chicken Bowl again. I don't think it's because we're actually scared of Clemson.

No, it's because our fans are insufferable count.

I just know that all of those cities suck in late December and early January.

To put Dallas in with Nashville and Memphis is ridiculous.

IF this happens I hope our REAL TIGERS wear the purple jersey so the Daboes will not wear all orange and look like big carrots.
The all orange uni gives my eyes a headache.

Yeah, Nashville's "Bash on Broadway" isn't any fun. You're an idiot.

Enough with the Chicken Bowl already. I would much rather go to the Cotton Bowl and if we must go to the Outback, I hope we don't play Wisconsin for the sake of avoiding back-to-back games against them. Maybe a Michigan vs. LSU game would be more attractive, especially with Big Blue being Coach Miles' alma mater.

This. It would disastrous for LSU in terms of lost revenue due to the fans not buying tickets. I can't believe that the CFA Bowl people would want to risk it. I'd imagine that Clemson's fans wouldn't exactly gobble up their tickets either.

What little goodwill Alleva has with our fans now will be put in serious jeapordy if they feel that he didn't fight to get us a better bowl matchup.

I love everyone putting 100% of the blame on Alleva. Like he alone decides where we go and if he "fights" we'll be magically put in a better bowl game despite there being better, more lucrative options. Willful ignorance FTW.
