The logic of making the switch is that Collins is a good enough athlete to play that position in the SEC. Josh D isn't.

That makes sense, but it obviously isn't the comment I quoted and was referring to.

Our QB's have been battered for several seasons. Its been that way since Stud came to LSU and it will not get any better as long as he and LM (pseudo OL Coach)are here. And to make things worse, Stud is now the O C. WTF

Maybe they should switch, but this is terrible logic on several levels.

Maybe? Sure, lets think about it and leave him there for other DEs to eat up. He'll win the heisman for most sacks allowed. They need to be switched or he needs to ride the pine. This is his 6th season in college football. This "veteran" is obviously not getting it done.

I'd go with this logic against any one of our other tackles. Also you forgot my quote that this kid was highly rated as an OT.

Go pick dingleberrys else where.

The hardest solution is moving La'el to LT and simply switching he and JD.

JD, when healthy, was not a power run blocker at guard, nor is he now, moving him back to guard won't change that and the team would lose what Collins brings at guard. If Collins is moved to LT then it would make sense to move a young player with better athletic ability to LG as a player with years of experience with limited physical ability/strength isn't reaping any benefits for the team these days. Not trying to undermine JD but the results at LT aren't looking great.

I was going to give you a pass on that since the other comment was so idiotic, but since you brought it up....it doesn't mean jack shite either.

If they switch it should be because Collins is the better option, and I feel certain that if the move is made it will have exactly nothing to do with where he was ranked coming out of high school and how he played against Clowney for a handful of plays in a high school all star game two years ago.

We either have to keep a TE back to help Josh D. out or have someone like Ware step a pick on the rushing DE. Nevertheless, I'm worried about UF's Dline against our left side.

I watched Florida a few times. Their d line is soft. Book it.

Really I watched Florida twice and they did not look soft.

You are thinking into this way too deep. If you want me to say it will be because Collins is the better option, then fine. I'm certain there are many that would agree.

Common denominator, Josh D. is getting worked and he's not getting better. It needs to be addressed. After all, LT spot is considered to be a blind side for quarterbacks like Mettenberger.

We have 2 dude. One is injured and out for the season, the other is our starting LG that should be our LT.

Is Chris Davenport not an option? That would leave LC at guard & put JD back as 6th man.

Please someone call in and ask what changes will be made. We all can agree that something surely needs to be changed, and fast! Mett has to get the best at line protection , ESP on the left side. Why can't these old Oline coaches perfect the line?

I don't expect josh D to be switched or benched anytime soon

He's a 6th year senior, and despite how bad he is, he's earned his spot there as far as miles is concerned.
