There are a ton of different reason's why this D isn't playing well.
#1 is that our DL is getting their arse handed to them for the most part. Watching the replay, I saw Woods get dominated on 1 play, one on one. It opened a huge hole in the middle.
#2 Poor tackling. This team has tackled pretty poorly all year. Our S's think their heat seeking missles(not a problem) other than the fact that they don't wrap up and they overpursue.
#3 Inexperienced LB's. Darry's experienced but has been hurt. Riley and Sheppard, for every good play they have, they turn around and have a bad one. On the long run by Moreno, Shep overpursued and then got easily blocked trying to come back, TOO LATE.
#4 Inexperienced CB's. We knew they would have some trouble. But, we expected the DL to put enough consistent pressure to help mask it. No consistent pressure, makes for wide open receivers.
It's still the coaches job to put players in a position to make plays. Far too often, our players aren't in a position to make plays. Our defense still looks totally confused right before the snap. That's poor coaching.

I've watched it twice. He average about 3-5 yards per carry before taylor missed that tackle for a 68 yarder.

There really is NOTHING that Miles can do about his DCs in the middle of the season so honestly, running them under the bus isn't likely to make things better.

I know a starting player on defense and he told me horror stories about the d-coordinators:
a) they didn't decide how to approach the Tebow-Florida offense even by the Friday before the game
b) those blitzes you saw in the South Carolina game, the players came up w/ those the Wed. before the game
c) Chad Jones is not being played due to Mallory's loyalty to Coleman, he was the one that recruited him
d) he [the starting player I spoke with] cannot figure out why Patrick Peterson has just started getting playing time, he should be starting and playing all game now.
this is complete bullshite
Chad Jones doesn't know what he is doing out there

This has nothing to do with speed.
Sure it doesn't. Curtis Taylor would take out Harvin, Demps & Rainey in a footrace. Point being he missed a simple tackle at the point of attack, at or near the line of scrimmage. It had nothing to do with Coaching or "Defensive Schematics". The Coaches had him in the correct position, he missed the damned tackle.

In response, you now assert that the Florida DEFENSE is faster than the LSU DEFENSE. Huh?
No I didn't. I pointed out 1 player on Florida's defense who is without question faster than LSU players at the same position.

does anyone really think we didn't decide how to approach florida until a day before the game when we had a bye week

this thread's overall stupidity is mind-numbing.

It certainly appeared so

Does the game Manager/CEO of the Team, have any say so in this claim?

I agree. In addition to the DC...we lost all but one in the secondary, two lbs, and the only explosive dlineman from last year. We needed to be more dependent on the offense this year for a change, but no experienced qb ruined that. Bad combination...it sucks. The sky is not falling. Next year will be better.

We scored 38 points on UGA. 38. That should be sufficient to win.

That still doesn't explain why we gave up 41 pts PPG against UGA and UF.

Remember when Bush said that Michael Brown was doing a heckuva job? Remember how Brown was forced to resign not long after that?

signed,
Last years D against like five teams. And not when your RSFR QB gives up 17.

Pretty sure it helps explain it. Not to mention that UGA has played ONE bad half of football this year and Florida is in full stride. Do you WATCH any other football?

I watched Ole Miss beat Florida. I watched a real defense with questionable talent hold UGA scoreless in the first half @UGA. And that 17 points is bull. UGA drove 32 yards after the INT to get into FG range.
