No different than Grant Delpit blitzing or Jacoby Stevens or any other DB
All Brooks did was attempt to run around the edge or they ran him on a stunt trying to get him untouched in the middle of the line
He never actually ever tried to physically engage a lineman.

NOnit wasn’t dumb to bring him in on passing plays where being much faster means a lot
It is dumb to put him at MLB and expect teams not to run down our throats on our 200 lbs LB.

At 200-215lbs, Brooks needs to develop more skills than just rush the passer. He’ll never be a safety if he can’t cover and he’ll never be a LB if he doesn’t add weight. Mingo was too light for DE until his second year. Debo Jones was too small until he was an upper classman, same with Duke Riley. Hell, Jacoby Stevens was moved all over the place including on offense and he’s going to be an asset now as a leader of the 2020 defense. Takes time

I just hope that he trust the process, jacoby Stevens was TE In a Matt Canadá offense!! Jacoby was in a worse situation than marcel, but never panic and now he is on his way to be #18 for LSU.
Hope we sign that Cox lb so they can use marcel in another spot. Will lb is a great fit for him, not mike lb.
Also, coach o forgot marcel brooks name in the media session, he just remember him like “#9”, no big deal but Idk what a kid can think about that.

I wouldn't be surprised if we end up in a 4-2-5 base, allowing Brooks to play a more hybrid role. both Brooks and Jacoby need to get on the field. they are too talented. Pelini will get it figured out.

Bo Pelini understands more about football than I do, so I’ll wait and see.
The cool thing about the rant is there are so many experts in every sport posting here. The coaches can get lots of awesome ideas from the posters on this board

i think they should handle him like they did Stevens last year...Stevens was more of a hybrid Safety that played low in the box and rushed a few times and also dropped back...It wasnt often they made Stevens cover over the top because he just didnt have the speed
