Side to side isn’t the issue

When your 200 pounds how are you stacking up against guys. Like Nahjee Harris who is 229 pounds running downhill.

He has to gain weight. There is a reason you don’t see 200 lbs MLB. Because what you just described isn’t really a thing.

really curious why people are upvoting Lester Earl in this damn thread. dude is a clown. also him rushing is NOTHING like Delpit coming to the line and rushing

Like wtf are you even talking about??? Delpit does that like maybe once a series. When Brooks was on the field he lined up across from the tackle and rushed EVERY SINGLE TIME. In a 3-4 that is a pass rushing OLB. Like a Von Miller. Marcel Brooks NEVER dropped back into coverage much less even come off the line of scrimmage I cannot believe you've really received so many upvotes.

A guy like a safety blitzes to try and catch the offense off guard. That's why they have success. but usually when the offensive of line reads it correctly the safety or corner gets put in the dirt... that is NOTHING like what Brooks did. He came in to rush.. Tackle new he was rushing. QB new he was rushing. I knew he was rushing. And everyone else except you new he was rushing. That literally makes him a LINEBACKER in the 3-4. He did not play safety. He did not play DB. Edge rusher is literally it. Cannot believe people are upvoting lester when he is wrong about 99% of everything else. why do people think he's just start now knowing what he was talking about.

Brooks doesn’t play safety because he can’t cover

Just because he’s 200 LBs doesn’t mean he has good feet.

He’s just like telvin smith who played for jimbo at FSU and was an all American

Stevens can’t cover either but they are putting him in position to succeed despite that

In fact most strong safeties can’t cover. But they are allowed to play in space & more free to roam, rather than read & react & have to deal with OL directly on blocks like he will have to do at LB

No he’s not. Already posted his weights at FSU the last time you said that. He was 215 as a freshman iirc

I hope you understand how far off that is from 200lbs.

And Justin Jefferson was 6’3 according to LSU roster

You think he only gained 3 pounds in 4 years? Lol

Weights are usually accurate, heights are embellished

But you’d rather site a rivals page lmao. Let me guess, he ran 4.25 at one of their camps, too.

If anything his high school weight was more inflated than anything so that’s not helping your case man

If rivals listed him at 196 he was probably 185

You just agreed that they inflate measurements at high school camps man

This is not some kind of unusual, unbelievable development here.

You see tweeners with elite skill sets that fall b/w S and LB all the time.

Harry Coleman comes to mind, but there really is a long list.

Coverage ability vs run stop ability vs blitzing abilities

Brooks will have time to establish what he can do. His position is semantics

No, I am saying they are generally inaccurate. They could have weighed him as a Jr. He could have been an EE at FSU & had extra months to put on weight. Who knows

The guy wasn’t a full time starter until he was a SR at FSU. And yes he weighed 218 at the combine, he is an extreme outlier in terms of his weight as an nfl LBer.

Comparing players to outliers is always unfair to that player.

Like every 5’10” QB can be kyler Murray ,,,

Or any WR has a shot if they run 4.75 because Jarvis Landry did it

Or that an RB can play at 240 because Leonard fournette can

Marcel Brooks being the next 215lb LB is rare...yea, but I guess there’s a small chance he can..., but it’d make more sense to put him in a position where he can get to the next level.

Let’s see if he can add weight this offseason cause this far he’s added about 5lbs in about 10months

Harry Coleman moved to LB in his 5th season at LSU.

Do you mean like Saadiq Charles who was listed at 295 pounds but weighed in at the combine at 325 pounds?

Yeah, so did Karnell Hatcher and Danny McCray and ………. you get the point

They wanted Harry at LB long before that, but he couldn't keep on the weight and speed at the same time. Come to think of it, I seem to recall he just couldn't keep on the weight, period.

And I'm not sure what his year of eligibility has to do with it

Weights are routinely manipulated between end of CFB season & nfl combine depending on how said player wants to be perceived for a certain position , or how fast they want to run, among other factors.

Well if you told me we could play Brooks at safety for 4 years then in his 5th year move him to LB, I would say that he could comfortably hit the weight he would need to be to play LB effectively
