Thanks for asking. The poster I responded to seemed enamored with the career earnings of Matt as a backup. I simply pointed out that while he earned those as a career backup, he signed his big contract with the expectation of being the starter. That’s why his career earnings are disproportionate to his career starts.
I’m a big fan of Matt’s and am glad he got paid. Was simply pointing out a reason for the high earnings.

One of my dream jobs is QB with enough potential to sign a big contract, but then under-perform, ride the pine, and collect $$$.
The other is a failed SEC football coach. Sign a multi-year contract with a huge buyout, fail miserably and get fired after one season, head to the house, and enjoy all the $$$.
