A blocked punt and a missed FG were the difference in the game. If not for that we could be talking about a different outcome. This team is not even in 2019 LSU league.
Cool

I did not know Parsons was a fan. Good to hear.

Maybe NIL is spreading the talent all over
This.
Kids are choosing between money and playing for the team they followed when growing up.
Used to be that Bear Bryant recruited kids just so other teams couldn't have them. Nowadays you can't do that because you have to pay your QB $4M and your left tackle $3M. Not enough money to get 2-3 deep talent.
For a kid, it comes down to taking good starter money at Indiana or backup money at LSU. Sometimes the kid LSU thought would be a backup turns out better than the kid they paid to start.
One thing that suffers is continuity. Players aren't being groomed to take over in two years. If you need a starter, you go get one in the portal. Maybe it works out, but it might take time for the kid to get used to the new system. Maybe he never adapts.
Whether Cignetti coaches his kids up, or has a knack for spotting talent, he's got something going at Indiana.

We live in a world of constant hyperbole and "the best ever" is an easy talking/debate point because it's incapable of being determined with certainty.

2019 Clemson would have beaten this Indiana team to a pulp...

We had 3 of the current top 10 players in the NFL from that team . And if you go top 20
May have more
Not only that, but guys like Jefferson and Chase were dominating NFL players at the same age as most of Indiana's roster.
