I live in Monroe and I don’t see any hate towards LSU from ulm fans. Sure there are some in every town that will dislike the Tigers but I’ve always felt monroe as well as all of NELA bleed purple and gold. If ULM fans dislike like anyone it’s Tech.

it is still weird to see fans from Laffy walking around in Bama t-shirts.
I love the city of Lafayette but man the way their fanbase acts makes you embarrassed for them. They act like it's impossible to pull for your alma mater but also pull for the P5 school that represents your state too. They bitch, moan, and complain and pull childish stunts and then turn around and say "LSU started it".
For such a "proud fanbase" they sure have giant sections of empty seats in their stadium. Where are all those "proud alumni" on gameday?

Ull fans dressing up in BAMA gear is the main reason I hate lafayette

A lot of your fans mistaken loyalty to our school as disloyalty to LSU.
I’ve got news for you: aside from when an occasional thread like this pops up when LSU/ULL play in a sport, ULL, its teams, fans, and university are simply not on the minds of LSU fans…at all.
I’ve never heard a single LSU fan say a person rooting for ULL is a slight to LSU in any way. What a ridiculous statement.

Ridiculous how? I was literally lectured to in this thread that I don't have loyalty to the state of Louisiana if I don't put my allegiance to LSU over the school I went to. It's been a week since we have played, and there were 3 separate threads about us on the front page last night.

I live in Broussard... It is hard pulling for both teams.
They have alot of pent up anger and resentment. I think they have great tradition, great potential and have alot to offer. Unfortunately, they seem obsessed with what's going on 50 miles East.

it's a case of familiarity breeding comtempt, all of these small colleges that went D1 to cash in on the rent a win pay days, and the advent of social media doesn't help, think they really are in the league with the big boys, they're not, and that's okay, when I lived in Lafayette I used to love to go to USL games, but I learned quickly that wearing LSU apparel was treated with hostility, and I mean some rude hostility

Weirdos. And they want to "explain" that Tech is right there, I mean its so close...
Its not, and if they ever do luck in to a good coach they get poached with a quickness to a bigger, better program.

haven't spent much time in n. La since my parents have passed but if Tech fans are now that way it's fairly recent, and probably USL rubbing off of on them

I'm from NW LA and there is a phenomenon where all the kids going to college from Shreveport/Bossier got to Tech for 4 years then come home. Thats it, went down I20 then came home.

Or if you just work in Lafayette. I wore an LSU shirt on Friday the week of homecoming last fall and several U Laff grads liked to lost their minds.
I live in Lafayette and this is the reason I won’t put an LSU license plate on my vehicle. I don’t want it keyed.

yep, I had a full scholarship offer from Tech but I was always going to LSU no matter what, I had already been to high school, not knocking Tech or NLU, they're good schools but that just wasn't for me

USL has a fanbase in Lafayette?

used to have a friend when I lived in Lafayette that played football for four years at USL, big time supporter, he had a huge tailgate for all of their games and sometimes I'd swing by his tailgate on the way to Baton Rouge for our games, so of course I had on LSU gear, now we weren't kids at that time. but some of his "guests" were just total assholes about that

Comparing Golden Corral to Ruth's Chris is my favorite comparison.
