I think Miles is reasonable. I'm sure he's starting to realize what a bone-headed thing he did. I think the Tiger fans are about to run him out of town. He'll settle for less.

so if we fire him do you honestly think he would go to work as an assisatnt coach for peanuts when he has big guaranted money from LSU?
He is legally bound to make reasonable efforts to find gainful employment.
He would find a head coaching gig IMO at a decent school.

finally someone who knows what they're talking about.

I do believe if enough pressure is put on Miles by the fans and alumni that he would resign and agree a cheaper buyout of his contract.
WTF ever! He's only leaving when he is dragged kicking and screaming out the door.

I have to assume Miles could find a BCS job paying between $1 and $2 mil a year, so you can probably cut that$15mil owed to him in half, at the very least.
We'd probably end up paying $5 million and be done with it
you think after yesterday with all the national media calling him out, a 0-8 record in the most recent games of ranked oponents, and the way tis program has gone down in 2 years that any one would give him 1 or 2 million a year? You are very optomistic my friend........

how can he not know he HAS to fire Crowton's sorry arse???
If he did that today, NO ONE would keep calling for Miles to go.
Really think about this, ALL of LSU's problems are offensive!!!!!!!!!!!! i e Crowton

And another thing, Mich will take him next year and pay him stupid jack and then it would cost us almost nothing each year, ...the diff between his pay there and here.

If Miles is fried where do we get the money to pay off his contract (15 million owed approximtley) and where do we get the money to bring in a big name coach?
This is Louisiana. IMO, there is a silver bullet that can get us out of the buyout under Section 12 - Standards.

I just spoke with gridiron club member and he said that if Miles was to lose to Arkansas and the bowl game he would not be fired. He said LSU cannot afford to pay Miles and a new top notch coach.
How about this from another post.........

I definitely believe that the powers to be could negotiate a buyout settlement and LSU would not have to pay 15 milion for the buyout. Again , I say look at the entirety of the contract and if the AD , TAF, and Board of Supervisors are serious after last night's debacle and maybe future debacles, Look at the "termination for justifiable cause" clause of the contract which any freshmen law school student knows is included in a personnel contract. Take your chances in the Louisiana courts on arguing what is justifiable cause. Last night might do the trick. I'm not saying whether to fire him or not, I'm just saying that the door is not closed on him getting terminated.

TAF cannot afford a mediocre program. If this meltdown continues, changes will have to be made.

LSU's defense was horrid last season after Miles made the mistake of promoting Malveeto. The offense has been porous this season for sure, but Miles is a damn offensive coach, why hasn't he fixed Crowton's ineptitude?
Then throw in that there is one coach in CFB that could screw up the ending to that game last night. And his name is Les Miles. It's fn sad.
LSU has more issues than a shitty offense.

so your basing our decisions on Michigans possible failure?

All Miles has to do is win next year like the Saints.
The Saint's RANTards were asking how many losses would it take for Payton to be replaced. Nobody is asking that question anymore.

so lets fire him and then go to court to prove he was a poor coach to terminate the contract...that would really make a good coach want to come here..

After yesterday's fiasco, I think you assume too much. In my opinion, Miles will never see a head coaching gig at a major I-A program after he is gone from LSU.

Peyton calls his own plays genious and therefore represents more than Mile's does for his team.
Obviuosly all Miles does with those headphones is think of different answers to dance around tough questions.
