Coastal AD's response to the ejections is just going to make him a bigger, more cocky, a-hole

He got warned, was told to get back to the dugout multiple times, the coaches reply "or what" got him tossed
He said “FOR what”, as in “what are you issuing a warning for?”
The ump told him and then he held up three fingers and said you missed three calls. Then he got tossed.
That’s too quick, in my opinion. I’m only arguing here because people are pushing false narratives.
“He was issued multiple warnings”, “he said ‘or what’, basically daring the ump to eject him”. Those things aren’t true.

What part do you dispute?
I dispute that he was given multiple warnings.
Now, the rules say he isn’t owed multiple warnings, so technically the ump was following the rules.

What, specifically

He was given an official warning while he was in the dugout, he then came out of the dugout and met the ump halfway to the plate, and asked “for what”. First of all, he already knew for what. You have to be stupid to think the coach hasn’t just yelled at the umpire from the dugout agouti the strike call. The ump gave him a warning and it wasn’t because the coach said “aw shucks”.
Next, after being given the warning and asking the ump for what, he yelled at the ump and gestured toward the ump “that’s 3 pitches you’ve missed.” He had already been warned, why he is daring the ump to throw him out? He’s counting on the ump to show restarting and not toss him.
The coach was a tool all week long. He said in the post game that the umps treated him like toddler when he was an assistant coach but now he’s a head coach and they have to listen to him. He’s 48 years old and no one can shoo him back to the dugout.
Dude got what he deserved.
I’m game 1, Coach Jay Johnson wanted to argue the hbp overturn but the umps shooed hm back to the dugout. Coach Jay calmly went back.

But overturning the HBP with Dickinson on big out wasn't important or excessive?
Again, umps suck, coaches know it.... Don't put yourself out there in their face without accepting the possibility it could cost you

I agree with this statement.

the CC coach said he didn't hear the initial warning due to the crowd noise...
He said he was asking why the 1B coach was warned and couldn’t hear because of crowd noise. He knew the warning existed, he was trying to hear the reason. Then when he heard the reason, he doubled down and told the ump he had missed on 3 pitches.
By the time he said that to the ump, the CC coach knew A) that there had already been a warning, B) that the warning was because of arguing balls and strikes, and C) that the ump had told him multiple times to go back to the dugout. He chose to continue arguing balls and strikes instead.

The ump gave him an official warning, that’s what he was writing down. That’s 1 waning.
When the coach was out of the dugout yelling and said “that’s 3” you can see the umpire respond. That’s 2 warnings.
THE COACH YELLED “THAT’S 3” A SECOND TIME. The ump sent him to the locker room.
Multiple warnings. Keep you head in the sand if you want.

I honestly believe he was trying to set the tone so that he would get favorable calls later. The problem is that he is a first year coach, with no skins on the wall. He presented himself like he was Saban.....I believe he had intended to do that all along...he took it too damn far though. He was way out of line, and honestly, is a complete douche. I wonder what Skip told him after all of that.

It’s not your fault. It’s the Coastal admin’s fault for hiring you.

If hit by pitch can’t be argued, then why can it be reviewed? That’s an argument right?!

If h3 had a question he should have called time-out. CCU administration is as bad as their coaches,

Do go on.
Just that the whole bench was chirping about the calls, a previous batter gave the ump a prolonged stare after being called out followed by the bench chittering about it. They were warned. The batter stepped out the box and was turned around talking to his coach in between pitches, then the coach stepped out on the field when the ump told the batter to get back in the box. He came out screaming from the start and then he was tossed.

So how long should Schnall have been allowed to hold up the game? 10 minutes? 20? Half hour? I'm just asking.

quote:yeah I heard him say that. That guy has been coaching a long time and they were both looking at each other. He can claim that if he wants but I will never believe he didn’t know what the ump was telling him.

Yeah, then they said rules are rules concerning the HBP on Dickinson. So rules are rules or they need to use common sense depending on which team is affected.

Here's a question - if your Schnall why not, after the next pitch, make a mound visit and stay there till the ump walks up and now you can talk to him on the way back off the field.
Wasting a mound visit is better than getting ejected from the game.
