Do people truly not understand why there is negativity towards Orgeron? Whether or not he is successful from now on remains to be seen, but his results up to this point in his career are what they are. He is the most losing coach in Ole Miss history, and proceeded to have an extremely underwhelming season against LSU’s weakest schedule in years. If you are being objective, I don’t see how you can view media/fan doubts as ridiculous.

Jack wads that see the optics of the Canada hire/fire. Forget the fact that he completely rebuilt the front 7 that was severely lacking. Went and got us a veteran sure thing at WR and Fehoko that paired with Rashard instantly made us better. He’s made LSU a much better team by adding Alexander which was huge before we knew Fulton would be back. A seasoned qb a seasoned kicker. Fantastic job. But he will be judged on how E does since he let Canada go for E

Wins and losses will measure how he is judged. No bull shite excuses. This is LSU. We have won championships in case you forget. Wins and losses.

What good is any of that if our offense is good enough to win games?

What good is a transfer QB and a “sure thing” we if our offense doesn’t work?

Of course he’ll be graded on the offense because that is what got the last guy fired.

Pretending for 1 second that it’s not fair is just bs.

A depleted roster? We had the 6th most talented roster in the nation last year according to 247.

And too bad we weren't close to winning either of the 2 sec losses

I can totally understand why people won’t give him the benefit of the doubt. His resume is not great. His only head coaching tenure was a disaster and so far this one has left a lot to be desired. Winning cures a lot of things.

What I don’t understand is those who claim to be LSU fans but don’t want O to be successful at the same time. So you want LSU to win National Championships, but that only counts as long as O isn’t the coach?
As long as O is the head coach at LSU, I will want him to be the best head coach in LSU history, until that doesn’t happen then I’ll want the next head coach to be the best coach, and so on.

I personally have my doubts about coach O, but I don’t have a personal vendetta against him like some people seem to have here.

Right, the negativity on O is definitely wide-spread. That will not change until he has a major accomplishment under his belt at LSU. That'll slow it down some. Then he will have to show that he can consistently keep LSU in the hunt. I do not know if O can do this, but it will be one hell of a story if he does.

Eh he needs to prove he isn’t himself in year 2.

I think In all likelyhood he is getting a 3rd year. The defense will be waaaaay too good to really fall apart.

The idea that if we shitcanned him after a 6-6 year is a travesty is bullshite.

We’ve had depleted rosters before and still won 8 or more games

There have literally only been 2 posters who said they hoped LSU loses games to get rid of O. TWO

The rest of us 'negatigers' are very skeptical but hopeful and want to be wrong.

I just can't comprehend how y'all can't see that.

I want O to succeed

But I feel Like his supporters are doing everything they can to make success for O the standards and not success for LSU

10 games is a decent season for LSU

10 games is a great season for O.

Well said

And the media is helping the cause by ranking us out of the top 25. Now anything above that will be 'success'.

Yes, some aren't willing to forgive him for the Canada/meddling debacle and the infamous Troy loss, at least not UNTIL they see him really get this thing going. I'm still kind of on the fence because I'm human, but I certainly hope for the best. I'm stoked right now. My hopes are sky high. I mean he and Aranda and Ensminger MAY really know what the hell they're doing and pull this thing off. I damn sure can't rule it out, especially having Burrow in here. My expectations are high this season, and they'll be high again next season. Let's geaux!

I doubt that.

I have no idea what that means.

It's a great season for any program.

What he is saying is that because Ed is the coach, the standards for LSU football have been lowered by his fans and the BR media.

Hence the “cupboard is dry” argument from some.

I disagree.

We have had more 10 win seasons that 9 or 8.

Let me pose the question like this, is the difference between Les being on the hot seat at the end of 2015 really that cancelled McNeese game?

People go on and on about how Les hasn’t won 10 games since 13, but we went 9-3 with a canceled game to instate cupcake.

And Les was justifiably on the hot seat, and I dont think McNeese would have made a difference nor should it have.

Is 10 wins just some magic number?

I dont Think so.

We play 13 games not. 10 wins is easy with an easy OOC schedule and a bowl game.

Les Miles is a really likable guy and the rest of the country could care less, or didn't watch close enough, to see what was happening with LSU football and just thought LSU fans should just be happy with what we had, and really didn't think LSU deserved to have results on the field anyway. They were pissed we got rid of coach Miles. That we didn't replace coach Miles with a really big name media favorite, like a Chip Kelly or Pete Carrol, plus getting snubbed by over hyped coaches like Herman or Fisher, makes someone like coach O, with his gravelly voiced bayou accent and basic down to earth ways, an easy target for them. Win the game against Miami this Sunday and all that negative bull shite goes out the window.

that's cool, no problem with being skeptical. But it seems like it's a lot more than just one or two who have written him off already. The 'glass half empty' crowd (instead of negatard or negatiger or whatever with it's negative connotations) crowd should just keep an open mind and wait to see what the season brings. If it all goes to shite then Coach O will be gone and everyone will be talking about a new coach. Until and if that happens, why don't we all just get behind this team and pull for Lsu to kick some Miami butt this sunday.

We won the game against Auburn but it was embarrassing to watch most of the way through

We lost to Troy

We played Bama scared two years in a row

We lost to a Florida team that we seriously outclassed and talked copious amounts of shite towards

Coach O will get respect when he starts to win football games. D-line or fairness or whatever excuses you can pull have nothing to do with anything; if he wins he will get respect. Period.

So let’s see some wins in 2018

by depleted roster he was probably referring to all the transfers, injuries and suspensions at key positions to key players early in the year. We had to start two true freshman on the o line as well as the d line being depleted early in the season.

Wow. Miles set us back with recruiting (Offensive line & QB) and Offensive Philosophy. Four and five star receivers, five star running backs and dual threat QB's that couldn't throw. Think about that for a second. Coach O definitively didn't win me over last year but I'll reserve judgement until this season progresses.
