It looks like he still has a litttttle bit of a gut, but huge improvement so far. You can see tone in his arms and chest now.

I'm short so 270lbs sounds crazy to me, but I have friends who are 6'2 and 220lbs so looking at his frame 270 really looks good on him.

If I had $39 million, I'd retire.

Oh, wait. He spent it.

ETA: Regarding his comeback, he's come a long way. And he has a long way yet to go.

I believe at his peak he was 260 at LSU. somewhere around there I'd presume.

If Kevin Kolb, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert, etc...

can make a roster, JaMarcus Russell can.

Arm Strength is something he has over almost every other QB in the league. Accuracy is an issue but not one that couldn't be improved.

He makes a roster this year, fact.

Prob Cleveland, Minnesota, or NY

From much of what I've read, he did not burn through his money near as much as the public likes to think.

He has a long way to go, yes, but I'm impressed with what he's done so far...I never thought he'd have the motivation, honestly. Props to him for finding something to drive him...the guy is hugely talented, and I am pulling for him.

Wish the Prodigal Son all the best! Some kids need to fail to realize how blessed they are.

I know I'm in uncharted territory, but just wanted to say I'm hoping it works out for him. I think he gets a solid backup role this season on a team that isn't so sure about their starter, and then once he's familiar with the playbook he can compete for a starting job, but it's more than obvious to me that he is willing to put in the work and prove all his doubters wrong.

I'd add Arizona to that list.

Looks like he is making progress. Good for him.

On a completely unrelated note, I think that is the first time I have ever seen him with hair.

Thanks for the link. I've been down on JR in the past. I'm backing him 100% after watching this. He's earned my respect.

Jamarcus needs to go to the arena league first.

Is he not eligible for practice squad? I know they have a 2 year limit, but does being a member of a team for 2 seasons ruin that eligibility?
