Nobody makes that much shite up. I love having some old guys on here especially when they talk about players or plays that we all heard about but never witnessed. To the old fossil tiger ranters

Can we get an AMA setup with this absolute legend using TD at 92?

You were worried abt NiL, and college players getting paid; in the middle of fricken WW2!?

Don’t want to get argumentative but I didn’t infer anything that might reference The Great WW II. I said “in the 40s”. And as I’ve said a few times in other places here I entered LSU as a freshmen in the Fall semester of 1947. (I’m sure that can be verified with very little effort.) And yes, shades of NIL was going on back then, looking ‘semi-proish’ and anyone could see it wasn’t going to end well.

I was just making a little joke brother. You said “I remember back in the 40’s” or whatever so I just thought it was funny. Only at Lsu, and/or in the SEC, do we (fans) care so much abt college football that even WW2, and it’s subsequent aftermath, isn’t/wasn’t a distraction… that’s why I said the “it just means more” thing. That’s the SEC motto (or used to be, i don’t know if it still is)

LSU created a fishing course for a player who needed quality points that involved him casting his lure into a hula hoop in the LSU lakes because when asked "What can you do?" He answered..."I can fish"

Same lake students in ‘47 forcibly moved stripper Stormy of New Orleans, and her musicians on a large flatbed truck, from in front of the Field House and threw the lot of them in said lake. So much for that pre-game celebration.

Right, back in the 40s I never thought I would live to see what's today called the portal, and the likes of the well-traveled quarterback JT Daniels committing to transfer to Rice wherein Daniels, a former national high school player of the year, will move to his fourth college home. He has played at USC, Georgia and West Virginia.

Semi-Pro is what it is. Free agency and NIL finalized it.
