And don't forget he can play multiple positions.
He actually has enough ability to be a minimally decent emergency QB for a team that doesn't want to have 3 on the active roster all the time.
I mean, it's a life raft at that point, but better than nothing.

It doesn’t really matter for him specifically in terms of play, but when you’re a team and your signing rookies out of the same piles, it might matter to you that the potential career length of that player is already atleast half that of the other prospects you’re looking at, whenever the talent difference in your evaluation is similar
Not when it's a punter. There is no financial risk of taking an older guy at that position, and you know those guys can kick into their 40's. Nobody keeps a punter for more than 10-12 years, even when they're good. So if he can punt, which we know he can, why not sign him? I thought it was assumed he would be drafted. I'm really confused as to why he hasn't even been signed as a free agent, yet.
Edit- Well, I guess he has been signed now. And so ends that riveting discussion.

I’m not saying it disqualified him, but when you’re comparing hundreds of prospects, anything can make a difference.
Glad he got signed. To be clear I never was arguing that he wouldn’t, nor was I really arguing anything tbh
