7 IS NOT A THING
Now that you mention it I can't think of who wore it in 12 and 13

Devin White or Greedy needs 7. Giles hasn't done shite to warrant the number 7

Maybe someone closer to the situation knows what’s up. Everyone has spoken highly of him and said just wait so it’s not that far out of the question to think he could be that good.

They could wear it but I don't even know they want it. White chose 40 because of Duke Riley

White has a special connection with 40 and he doesn’t want to give that up. Greedy may not have wanted it. John Battle isn’t likely to give up 26 because of his admiration for the late Sean Taylor.

The player that wears 7 chooses who to pass it on to. Not the coaches.
Who passed it to Fournette? No one had worn 7 in 3 years. The only person that “passed” the number was Peterson to Mathieu.

People getting upset over a number is one of the most ridiculous things I've seen.

Rondell Mealey, James Gilyard, Ali Highsmith, Trev Faulk are just a few that played well in that number.

Giles will probably go pro after this year that way O can pitch to Noah Cain that he would be #7. Cain has said multiple times how big being number 7 from Baton Rouge and following in Fournette’s footsteps would be.

No. 7 is not a tradition number.

How are people upset about Giles getting 7? It wasn’t just some random decision. Some people will bitch about anything

Because it's the rant that knows everything.
Dude has probably worked his butt off and earned it while sitting out his transfer year.

Agreed. If our QB’s can get him the ball, he will tear it up in the slot.

He was chosen by DJ Chark and it was passed down same as Fournette passed it down to DJ before him
Posted on 2/15/18 at 9:47 pm to Slippy
Why does that seem to bother you so much.

18 goes to the long snapper if logic dictates.

So a player that transfers and plays scout team for a year gets the prestigious #7?
Seems menial but definitely breaking tradition.
Maybe 18 is the new “hard worker, grind from the bottom” kid
