I'd like to see him try to gain a few yards on some of the plays he throws the ball away.
This. Nuss ran backwards a bit as the pocket collapsed, but not forward

He can run and I think he should run a little more. He had several opportunities to make some nice gains and chose to pass.

as long as he's mobile in the pocket that's all that really matters with the arm he has
Do you know how much success LSU had in 2023 and 2019 off RPO's?
Sure, pocket presence and mobility is a great asset but for LSU's offense to run at its maximum capability they have to be able to run RPO's with great success.

Rushing stats for the year of two QBs competing for national title:
McCarthy - 171
Penix - 13
Nuss is good

Nuss running ability
Burrow had 368 rushing yards his last year and 399 the year before.
He wasn’t running
Burrow had some DOGS around him...He didn't have to run much but when he did it was effective enough

I liked it when Jamarcus Russel would lumber down the field for a few yards

he doesn't have to be Jayden but enough to keep the defense honest....he should be great.
He's better than Burrow and Daniels throwing downfield running to his right. He won't make as many big plays as Daniels did with his feet when he left the pocket but he'll make more big plays throwing on the run. Good luck to DB's that have to cover our receivers for 8-10 seconds.

Did you come up with that while he was backing up instead of moving up in the pocket every time he felt the slightest bit of pressure?

Yeah! I didn't think he ran often enough, especially on third and short. He was so big and strong he would have been effective, if he had tried.
