Would that be the highest ranked team ever in the chicken bowl
We played #5 Miami the same year we got shafted.

Explain to me the logic over better bowls bypassing the better and higher ranked BCS team with a fan base that travels? What are you basing your analysis on that LSU gets passed on for A&M and USCe? Explain please...

We could have run anything there and just as easily not converted it.
Bama's defense was gassed. It's not unreasonable to think we could've gotten 2 yards with Hill following Copeland or with Ford running around the outside.
Coulda, shoulda, woulda. Doesn't matter now.
Looks like we'll be spending NYE in ATL.

Who should LSU fans cheer for between Mizzou and ATM?

Clemson win might put us in the Outback.

He has no logic for it other than the fact that he just thinks he knows everything about the bowl selection process. It's stupid. If the past two weeks haven't shown how much can change than nothing will. Also, there is no basis for saying that atm automatically goes to cotton over LSU. That is not at all written in stone.

Sure it has been discussed, but what if two sec teams are in national championship game can a third be selected for a BCS game?

Cotton Bowl is guaranteed a sellout with A&M versus Oklahoma. Close proximity of both schools makes this a desirable matchup. Also, LSU opens next season in Jerryworld against TCU. CB might be afraid that our fans might pass on the bowl game in lieu of going to the Cowboy Classic instead.
The Outback Bowl hasn't chosen an SEC West team in forever. They seem to have a thing for USCe, because they've invited them several times. Again, distance might be a factor. Columbia is a lot closer to Tampa than Baton Rouge.

Cotton Bowl is salivating over a possible A&M/UT matchup. Even if UT loses at K State next week, their record still won't be any worse than OSU or TCU, and they're far more attractive to any bowl than either of those teams. Outback Bowl rarely takes an SEC West team.
ETA: LL beat me to it. Although I think OU will go BCS rather than Cotton.

May have already been asked:
Long shot, but what if Notre Dame loses tonight, and you see Bama #1, UF #2. With UGA, LSU and TAMU then vying for the Sugar, Cap 1 and Cotton ??

They wouldn't be vying for the Sugar. Sec can only have two BCS teams unless two are playing in the NCG and the SEc Champion is NOT one f them

No, unless they are two non-champions from the same conference, which will not be the case
