Question for you Project,

At what point do we start to discuss Jaden Hill coming back?? To go from consensus first round pick to start the season to now at least Round 2, does he begin to float the idea or still MLB

Jaden Hill won't be pitching next year. Why would he come back?

No way he comes back when he can use his future team’s rehab facilities all season while getting paid

I mean I understand he won’t be pitching next year, but with NIL rules he can still theoretically make money in college. This doesn’t matter if he has a signing bonus north of 1 million, but if not why not come back and rehab at LSU rather than rehab and ride a bus around the minors??

They will rehab him at an alternative site. If he isn’t pitching he isn’t going to be with a minor league team.

If he’s rehabbing he isn’t riding a bus around the minors. He’s at the organization complex with oversight from trainers, doctors, etc.

Thank just wanted to ask before I get my hopes up if he starts sliding..

With Kudrna I don’t know if anyone’s asked but do we have any rumors on his asking price?? If he isn’t selected by one of the first 6 teams, how drastic of a difference in signing bonuses would he have then.

Just sit back and keep up. If someone is selected today they are almost assuredly gone.

Not only Jaden Hill, but any players with LSU ties drafted today will likely sign with MLB. The only ones that come to school will be the ones that are insulted by the $125K (which will eventually turn into more if they are patient)

Sounds like youre focusing on the wrong pitchers friend.

Focus on Selvidge.

I’m not sure if there are rumors of his price, but if you look at his Twitter feed he retweeted a bunch of stuff about him being a future draft pick. I don’t think he’s one to hold out on.

Based on the information out there, it doesn’t sound like he will be a difficult sign. I’d expect off the board by round 3 at latest

Yesterday FanGraphs had him (kudrna) attached to the Pirates via rumors. He may be off the board right away.

But the Reds will have additional money to spend since they took Mat Nelson with a $2MM+ slot and he won't get near that much.

A lot of other teams have a ton of money and the prevalent theme from last night was underslot deals to spread the bonuses around.

The Royals may look to make a splash locally with either Jensen or Kudrna since their 1st rounder is almost assuredly going underslot.

I know Selvidge is who we are watching, and I know Hill and Kudrna were both long shots but hey did we think we would land Crews or Marceaux when they came out?? Now yes this draft is different but had to ask

Yes there are always an exception or 2, but historically, almost all players drafted in the first 10 rounds sign professionally. I for one am not sweating any of these and choose to hope our new coaching staff bring in portals who can play and contribute to fill out our roster for 2022

There’s always a team that absolutely shafts us. I wonder who it will be this year.
