Lowly ranked Miami? Miami was ahead of LSU last week.

Miami had a big sweep of North Carolina last week. Moved them pretty high.

This past week though:
Wed. Lost to Florida Gulf Coast 4-2
Fri. Won against Virginia Tech 6-4
Sat. Lost against Virginia Tech 5-4
Sun. Lost against Virginia Tech 3-2

I think PerfectGame has had he best rankings all year. I guarantee you the people there watch more college baseball than the chumps at BA, ESPN, or the retarded Coaches Poll.

Perfect game and Baseball America are both very well informed writers.

ESPN is the same poll as the coaches poll (different from the ESPN power rankings they produce later in the week)

I think a Top 8 with FSU, UK, LSU, A&M, UF, and Baylor in no real particular order is pretty damn stout. The other two teams can play their way in. But those 6 of 8 should be looking to control their destiny as national seeds.

Agreed, & I hope we get Texas as a 2 seed in BR. Saw them play Friday night vs OkSt. Definitely rebuilding in ATX this year.

I am worried about the NCAA Selection Committee handing over a national seed to Purdue this year because of the northern aspect they are so attracted to. Purdue is playing good ball at 28-5 and they probably won't lose many more games this year with the teams they play in Big 10 conference but their RPI all year has been in the teens and early 20s and their SOS is like 90 or something.

I just want the committee to reward teams that play rigorous conference schedules in the SEC and ACC is all. Sure, give them a regional host, but not a fricking national seed.

ETA... The only reason I rant about this is because I've seen Kendall Rodgers tweet about this specific topic for weeks now. And I consider him probably the most "in the know" of anyone following college baseball.

If their rpi stays in the teens, purdue will get a national seed.

Sucks that our RPI dropped, though that should be remedied this weekend.

Agreed. Those two actually pay attention to college baseball. I don't know if the rest of them know any more than the teams they coach or are covering.

How is Purdue's RPI higher than ours?

I thought posting a RPI of 23 last year was handling our business.

But I agree. We need to take care of our shite and not leave room for the committee to frick us sideways again.

They have a series at UCLA in a couple of weeks. That will be intersting to see. For a northern school, they have scheduled well to keep their RPI fairly high.
