We don't need 2 boards. We need massive amounts of bannings for:
Yes, the posters here are bad, but they are also allowed to be that way.

5. DO NOT engage in baseless criticism of LSU athletes, coaches, administrators or recruits. Legitimate evaluation of a player's performance or a coach’s ability is allowed, but personal attacks and insults are prohibited.

it is simply frustrating to watch others continue to drink the Cool Aid. I whole heartily agree that the players should be off limits, but those who are in a position to do something about the coaching staff need to know that what they saw in person or on TV was not an abberition. The Rant is a place to go for that reinforcement.

Why not just skip over the negative comments?
You have to know there is a decent bit of the fanbase that is upset with Miles. You can choose to blindly support him and that is fine but people can also be upset about where things have gone as well.
Anybody that takes a logical look at the situation can see some clear problems that have popped up and be unahppy or concerned. LSU football is very important to a lot of people and they are passionate about it slipping away from an elite program to a borderline top 25 team.

I know several former posters who have stopped because this has gotten out of hand, and I am fighting the urge to do likewise. That being said, why can't we wait to see if there are improvements before starting a meltdown. Some things will remind us of the past, but that does not mean we will experience the same type of seasons. I see improvements in several areas. I think the first half of the UNC game is more of an indicator of things to come. The second half was a perfect storm of fumbles, penalties, youthful subs, overconfidence, and an emotional surge by UNC.
A quick example: Bo Pelini was being tarred and feathered after the ASU game (his first) and he walked off the field as a National Champion after his last. Pelini leaving, the failed co-dc experiment, and RP, will take time to recover from.

So what then would be the topics on an all positive board?
I don't actually support an all positive board, though I agree with the OPs general theme that there is a lot of unintelligent negativity on here, and it would be nice to not have it.
I participated in a lot of threads yesterday that had pros and cons to the performance on Sat.
Example: run defense. Run defense looked good, but not great. 24 net yards is a little deceiving because NC actually gained 96 positive rushing yards. I pointed out that LSU's defense actually did a great job of hitting the runner at the line... but didn't do so well at wrapping up and tackling at times, and probably gave up 50 yards after contact (out of the 96 yards). If they improve tackling, run defense will be outstanding, instead of just good.
See that? See how you can be positive, yet critical at the same time? Observe what happened, make your argument and see what other people think-- in support or opposition to your idea.
On the other hand, some idiot posting how he thought Miles is an idiot for the way he answered Erin Andrews at half-time (like he was in a fog?! ... according to the poster) is useless and is nothing but being hateful. fwiw, I thought Miles was measured in his reply to EA and didn't flub it like he has at times, so I thought it was an improvement.

Apparently, the administration believes that the criticism of LSU's coaches are not baseless and are legitimate evaluation.
I would agree with a banning of people bashing the player's performance. We can all see the games, no need to criticize a young man who is trying his best, but the coaches are paid well for the job that they perform.

There is an equal amount of unintelligent positivity going around also. I just saw some guy try to say it was a good thing that almost 200 yards of UNC's passing came on 3 plays. How is that a good thing. Tells me some DB's made some big time mistakes and that some people were put on the field who were not ready to do their jobs. Someone evaluated these players and put them on the field.

I don't have issues with most things on the Rant except the childish personal attacks. If someone thinks JJ is a horrible quarterback and JL is better, I'm okay with that. It is just their opinion and we all know what opinions are worth. It is the personal attacks on other posters that bother me and we have way too much of that on here.

people overestimate the importance of this board. you guys act like if people on here are bitching about the coaching it will somehow infect the program. if that's true then our coaches are not doing their jobs. i agree people should be more civil, but that goes for BOTH sides of the debate. accusing someone of hating LSU just because they don't like the coaching is immature and done repeatedly on this board.

So you admit that he flubs it sometimes? Why then should it not be an open topic for discussion? Everybody who takes part in the discussion has a right to express their opinion whether it be "Miles is an accomplished orator" or "Miles is a bumbling idiot" and everything in between. If you are going to have a discussion then there wouldn't be much to talk about if you decide to censor one groups opinions on any given topic.

could have a Rant and a Rave, seems reasonable

So is the idea of 2 boards something new? I mean is this any different than the idea of a happy board and depressing board? That has been discussed? Why is it a revelation now?

My two cents :
Less Miles is an arrogant yankee who is underchieving based on the talent he has.
I will never critcize our players even though I sometimes get angry at mistakes they make(like running into the kicker).
I don't pump sunshine , but that doesn't mean my love for LSU is any less than yours.

People act like the Rant is the majority of LSU fans, in fact it is probably a very small minority.
