Hes the best punter I've seen coming out of high school....

I watched him pin ball after ball inside the 10 and even drilled one for almost 70yds in the Dome 2 years ago. If the bright lights of Tiger Stadium don't freak him out he'll be a good one.

FWIW, I was at the 09 state championship game (cousin played for Notre Dame) and witnessed him kick from his own 35 and the ball hit the pylon in the corner of the endzone. The dome went speechless. I also remember him being HUGE for a punter.

Dayam! You getting me hyped up.

I went looking and found a highlight video from PVB.
Brad Wing Punter highlight video 2 shots for each punt, endzone and sideline shot. 2nd punt in that video he punts from the back of his own endzone to the 25.

This guy had to jump really high for a lot of bad snaps. He's also very quick to get the punt off.

2nd

Had a bad deep snapper, always reaching for the ball. Like I said, the best I ever saw. I saw Sebastian Janikowski in a Fla./Ga. All-Star game. This kid will be punting on Sundays.....

Watch the video of David Wing (his papa, I think) playing for Perth back in the 80s. Aussie Rules Football is a tough and strange game. The older Wing was obviously a bad dude and very athletic. Good stock. I look forward to Brad Wing in Tiger Stadium with 90+thousand screaming "Wiiiiiiiing!!!!"

What I will tell you is that when Coach Miles called to offer my son a scholarship to LSU as a kicker, he told us that Wing had not cleared NCAA and so (in his words) Kyle (my son) was even more valuable to him. It will be interesting this season (and 2-3 more) to watch Brad and Kyle battle it out to see who's the best punter in the SEC. Coach JoeRob was THE MAN on Special Teams at the camp and Kyle really liked him a lot! If UF had not offered, he would have been proud to be a Tiger!

sounds like a really grounded kid just living the dream. I'll definitely be rooting for him.

Yes it will. I found some of Kyle Christy's highlights. His kick-offs are sweet--back of the end zone. His punting is nice but seems he takes three steps. Hopefully he'll improve on that but I like Brad Wing's ability to get the punt off very fast. Seems he was rushed heavily at PVB and learned well.

Not sure what you watched, but Kyle's always been a 2 step punter. That's one of the reasons LSU and UF liked him so much. That, and his ability to get distance and hang time on punts. But since LSU had Wing lined up as their punter, JoeRob wanted Kyle as a kicker.

Did Wing end up red shirting last season?
