so is jerry the one that told him not to pay back the hundreds of thousands he owes people right now? not saying it could NEVER happen that dallas leaked something to get him to fall in the draft, but i think its become pretty clear that Dez Bryant is no stand up human being
Owing people money and having dinner with someone is a little differnt.
He will pay all that back and some of those jewlery stores gave him jewlery to do appearances which he didnt do and now he owes them money...Another example of a big name getting exposed
Not sure if this was out everywhere but a month ago he got banned from the local mall here for 60 days because him and his friends pants were to low...im sure it escalated to you know who i am but none the less the cops knew who he was and pointed him out.

Former LSU assistant coach Earl Lane, who handled Peterson's recruitment, said he did not have dealings with Lyles in the recruiting process in an interview with ESPN's Joe Schad.
"There's a lot of rumor and innuendo," said Lane, who has been out of coaching for the past two years. "But I believe in doing things the right way and on the up and up."
Lane said he's heard of Lyles but "if the guy walked right in front of me right now I wouldn't know who he is."
Lane said neither Peterson nor his father ever brought up money and never mentioned anyone else who had.
Lane said Peterson reneged on a commitment to Miami after visiting with LSU academic staff and experiencing a Saturday night game at LSU.
"It was overwhelming for him and his parents," Lane said. "Anytime you have a top ranked player who goes to another school there will be some sour grapes and things said."
Lane recruited some of the best players in the SEC this decade including Peterson, Glenn Dorsey and Tyson Jackson, but said he's left coaching for the past two years to care for his father.
Peterson's agent, Patrick Lawlor, said Peterson and father Peterson, Sr., told him that they did not know anything about Lyles shopping the cornerbacks' commitment.

This is refreshing to me, at least.
I pose two questions to the Rant:
1. For all the comparisons to this being similar to sCamgate, when did you EVER hear Cam come out and give a definitive statement like this?
2. Do you think PP had someone write this for him, or that this was his own statement? I knew the dude was articulate, but this announcement shocked me for how well-spoken and collected he was. I don't know many 20-21 year olds could remain cool like that in the face of these allegations.

ESPN is not accurate.
It says Earl Lane recruited Dorsey and Jackson.
Earl Lane wasn't on staff until Miles came.
Dorsey and Jackson were signed by Nick Saban.

The only contact PP had with A&M.
Posted on 3/31/11 at 3:49 pm to PeaRidgeWatash
so there *was* cheating involved in PP's contact with A&M? (facemask)

Beautiful. Lyles should have to pay for this. Dishonest, defamatory, and self serving.

The notion that Texas A&M ever even had a prayer at signing Patrick Peterson, either by paying him or otherwise, is laughable. That is how I know this story to be false on at least some level. It is possible that Lyles solicited money from A&M under false pretenses that he had some type of influence over PP, but PP never had any intention of going to A&M. Ever.
Also, too bad Earl Lane couldn't coach for shiz because he could recruit quite well.

Auburn fans are trying to say it's Camgate all over again. Except it's not.
1) Camgate involves a father asking for money
2) an athlete who's been controversial everywhere he's been
3) and it blew up within months of said athlete's recruitment.
4) And the athletic department at the school in question was informed immediately.
1) The PP7 allegations are only now coming out three years after his recruitment
2) the accuser never informed his school of the allegations at the time
3) the athlete's family was not involved
4) and the athlete in question has never been in trouble for any reason.
Other than those minor differences, it's downright scary how similar the situations are.

You are aware of where PP is projected to be picked and what the implications would be if a rookie salary cap is included in the next CBA......and that PP would be subject to that if he stayed another year at LSU , don't you?
Posted on 3/31/11 at 6:22 pm to LSU82BILL
PP WILL be subject to the new CBA this year.
