Well you should be right but in the case of preseason polls... those can predetermine the national championship if the top 2 (preseason) run the tables (despite the fact that there are possibly 2 or 3 other undefeated teams)... >:/

No one on our defense other than Claiborne and Baker deserve any preseason recognition. They will show out on the field, and get their post season awards.

I know this thread was about how LSU got shorted in the pre-season AA list by Steele. He for the longest time would pick the Ducks to lose, even when Dixon and Stewart were unstoppable. So sometimes he is an idiot. Like I said before, you have many near stars. Oregon does have a couple of stars, James and Harris, and Steele missed on our QB, Thomas. What the heck, just because Thomas almost matched Luck for stats last year doesn't mean he is any good. Don't pay attention to the Oregon QB, he can't pass and he can't run. James and Barner and Huff are just sideshow freaks who happen to run very fast compared to everyone else, no problem. Oregon doesn't have near as many near stars as LSU because their lineup is filled with stars. No fun for you. Wait until you punt or kickoff, hehe, Cliff Harris gets all the attention, but Barner is better. Just don't pass to Cliffy's side of the field. He does bait and switch and intercept, it's hilarious. How good did you say JJ was? Ohhh. Long day for the Tigers.

you lost me here. Have you seen our special teams, coverage and receiving? We will probably beat you guys with special teams. ANd as for there being "more stars" on UO's team, do you think it might be because you're a UO fan? Hell i cant claim to know your whole roster, but there are some guys on my team that i think are stars.
Sam Montgomery is a guy that missed a little over half the season, but has rehabilitated overwhelmingly fast. He will be a terror, and while i dont think its a travesty that he's not on some jackasses preseason AA rankings, i think its nice that you dont know about guys like him yet.
Oh but you will.. And you will hear alot about tharold simon as well, since Chip will probably try to go away from the more experienced Claiborne. We'll see how "picking on the new guy" will go.

This year's team is relitively young. Who should be on the list (besides Mathieu)? Jordan Jefferson? He is a good kid, but does not deserve that recognition. Simply, a very young team.

And, I think anyone here would choose a roster of unrecognized, young all americans to a senior class of one or two with average players in supporting roles.

I'm sure you said the same thing in 2003 when he named LSU (#15 or so in most polls) a darkhorse National Title Contender and again in 2007 when he had us in the top 2.
