I'm not doing it this year. I refuse to let myself think about what the rotation could be. I don't know how it will work out, but it needs to work out this year. If we have to piece it together all year again because this guy and that guy is out for weeks then we will need to start taking a look in the mirror somewhere.
Very fair point. We've certainly been burned before.

I'm not a typical Rant fan. I don't think there was a game I didn't watch last year. Including at UT which I was at...unfortunately.
It is all speculation right now, but Gio was a freshman last year. They were all hot and cold at the plate lol.
I am excited about this year in baseball...more excited than I get for any other LSU sport.
What does OF lineup look like without Gio?

You and Adam4848 both do fantastic work on keeping us more casual fans informed on all things baseball....Just a
to both of you!

They're going to have more power than they've had in quite some time. Honestly, it could be hit or miss with the way the sophomore class progresses in the lineup.

That could mean no Johnny Wholestaff for midweek games since you have Walker, Jaden Hill and Hilliard who will need to get their innings
Oh crap. I forgot all about Walker.
Here I go, getting excited about the pitching staff. Damn it!!!!

CF - Cabrera
LF/RF - Willis, Bianco, Dugas, Hampton

Any updates on Hill, i didn't really follow the fall closely. Did he throw at all or was he shutdown all fall? Did they ever come out and say what his injury was? I was very impressed with the little i saw out of this kid last year, seemed to have big league stuff.

Can we please use first names with the Doughty brothers....Cade and Braden? Or at least let’s put some initials before last name.

“I’m going to line him and (Giovanni) DiGiacomo up during fall ball and see which one makes the catches,’ Mainieri said. “And we’ll move the other guy to right field.”
That was from September re: Cabrera and Gio. Looks like PM isn't concerned with Gio's bat.

I don't think he will throw in the fall. Last that was said was optimistic about Hill being able to pitch again. I believe he has thrown the ball some, pain free. We have heard this since the SEC Tournament though.

He will probably get the first crack at starting (which is why I had him in my projected starting lineup). I'm not trying to shite on him by saying he's not a lock. Willis, Bianco and Dugas are making a serious push with their bats in the fall. And Hampton may make a strong push once he arrives as well. There is only 3 spots is all I'm saying.

I don't know if you saw my edit on the last page. Your roster is accurate except for having Cranford listed twice.

Anyone know what Toup's batting average was before he ran into the wall? Seemed liked every scrimmage he was getting on base and wrecking havoc on the base paths. Seems like a good candidate for a lead off hitter if Gio can't cut it.

Any reference to the name Doughty will be talking about Cade. Probably 99% of the reason Braden will remain on the roster is because of Cade. You probably won't hear the name B. Doughty mentioned in many conversations.

Yep. I caught that and fixed it on my roster (just not in the post).
Do you know, off the top of your head, who the draft eligible sophomores are?
Posted on 10/16/19 at 12:58 pm to oOoLsUtIgErSoOo
Henry based on age, Labas and Storz due to redshirt (though Storz was a SES last year based on age).
That's all for this year.
That's all for this year.

Sorry, but it's the truth. Cade can be penciled in as an infield starter. Braden is 4th on the depth chart as a catcher, and in reality Bianco and Willis probably catch before him if it came down to that, so you can say 6th.
We have 36 on the roster, and one more will have to leave. Braden would be 100% the prime candidate on a normal year. He won't be this year because of Cade though. I don't really like getting into that stuff though, because it sometimes naturally takes care of itself.

We’ll see..I’ve been watching LSU baseball for 35+ years and have seen many players that are dismissed by people like you end up being key players for LSU at some pt. Hell..Warren Morris was never supposed to be a key player/starter at LSU. We will see.

It would be wonderful if you are correct, but I don't think he gets much of a chance to even prove it.
Sorry if you are related to the Doughty's.
