It would be wonderful if you are correct, but I don't think he gets much of a chance to even prove it.
You’re most likely correct..I just think it would be nice to acknowledge the existence of both Doughtys on our team..both love LSU and will give their all for the team. I really won’t be very surprised if Braden becomes a valuable player for us some time down the line. Am I expecting it? Not really.
PS no..not even close to related

You and Adam4848 both do fantastic work on keeping us more casual fans informed on all things baseball....Just a to both of you!
LSU baseball season is a year round event for me. I am enjoying the hell out of this football season, but I always have an eye out on baseball.

I didn't not acknowledge Braden on purpose. There were multiple players I left off. Just my opinion on a projection of starters in the fall. Nothing more, nothing less.

Gio did not do well in the Cape and wasn't even starting most of the summer. He was not happy about his experience there. Gio showed flashes last year and I hope he gets it together because he had a few moments last year where he looked the part.
Burnett LHP has not been impressive, I don't know if he will make the 35. Plus, LSU is auditioning two walk on lefties as well.
Abendroth has not seen the field so he may see writing on wall and would be a better fit at a juco.
Storz is another one, if he can't get healthy how much longer do you hold a roster spot for him or does he decide to hang it up at some point.
Not sure what status of Gunter is either, hasn't thrown much this fall.

Hughes can handle SS at a SEC level no matter what he hits.
Can he though? while i think he's a good SS, and a really good fielder of the ball, he's slow and doesn't cover as much ground as an elite SS would.
I think it's ridiculous that we don't have any capable SS's on this team. How do you not recruit SS's and get to the point where the only true defensive SS on the team is one guy who can't hit over .200?

It’s not really a big deal..but I was really talking about when you listed our roster. Yes..most of us in the know understand Cade is the infielder and Braden the backup catcher..but Braden also plays infield.

I feel like you keep commenting in your own thread to try and keep it relevant and at the top of the rant

He and Dugas should have gone to the north woods league where they could have gotten more consistent playing time.

We had a SS committed, but he fricked us for the MLB. We also have a FR SS committed, but he got hurt.

Just about every comment in this thread has been a reply to another poster.
Go to the MSB and edit some more picks, after games, against the spread. Your child games aren't needed here.

Cole Henry? Not the Friday guy? Why on earth would you think that?
Every single thing about Henry, before he got hurt, screamed Friday night SEC guy.
I believe in his last fall start he struck out 6 in a short stint. I believe he was featuring his mid 90's fastball, with a mid 70's change up. His curve ball was already legit last year. If he added that change up, the kid will be unhittable and a first round pick (if he stays healthy).
Not a Friday night starter.

Henry is our best pitcher by far...thus he’s our Friday starter..not real complicated.

Marceaux would be another option, if he really turns it on. If Marceaux is featuring Friday night stuff and Henry is throwing on Saturday, then it's almost unfair. You are talking Vandy level pitching staff right there.
Labas/Walker were built for Sunday's in the SEC.
Storz would be a "Friday night stuff" guy, but I don't even want to go there.

With all our guys healthy...it would really be unfair. Let’s not forget about Hilliard also.

Stop. I said I wouldn't get my hopes up with the pitching staff.

I said I’ve been following LSU baseball for at least 35 years...this is as excited as I’ve been...mostly because of pitching. But we have ALOT of sluggers also.

It's not nearly as big of a deal as the rant makes it out to be
It always a big deal when your starting SS is a career .150 hitter and shows no signs of improving. It makes every error in the field magnified
