Jasper is the greatest running kicker in history. His feats will never be equaled.
I have emailed Joe A. about the possibility of retiring his jersey, but have not heard back from him yet.

That was a great article on Mannon. All joking aside, the article says that he's scored plenty of TD's as a WR b/c people don't guard him....do it Les!!
He sounds like a great kid and a solid kicker.

I am going with josh. He is a fricking stud. Maybe we should try him in the wildcat.

i have a question. would it be legal to punt the ball after passing the line of scrimmage? in an iffy situation you could have jasper roll right and try to run and if it looks like he wont make the first give a little rugby style punt. if he could still do it after the LOS then it could be even more effective because it would be one less thing to worry about (especially if its a 4th and long type situation)

Negative, must be from behind the LOS.

curious as to what the rule would be? wouldnt it essentially be a fumble? if so would it not only be a problem if it went out of bounds (which would be a forward fumble and come back to the spot of the fumble/punt)

I found the rule stating that all punts must be from behind the LOS, but I'm not sure what the penalty would be for doing it.
Looking for that now. You've sucked me in you bastard.

good post. I have been pondering a triple threat punter.
Run.
Pass.
or Punt.
Perhaps in a short yardage 4th down around midfield. He could throw to his blocker, or tight end. If the throw or pass isn't there, he just rugby kicks inside the 20, and there you have it.
Obviously, there is much risk.
fumble
incomplete pass
tackled short of the 1st.
poor kick
blocked kick
But, there is upside too.
get the 1st, maybe more, and keep the defense off balance. It would be hard to set up punt return if the defense was worried about defending the LOS.
And if you punt, the delay that could occur prior to kicking would give you more time to get downfield and perhaps have less defenders setup when you get there maybe increasing the number of fair catches.
Hmmm. It would be something that could be implemented a couple times a game in the right situation and personnel.

Major threadjack and although I love the trick plays, the triple threat punter reminds me of this article:
The coach who never punts
In college FB, you obviously couldn't pull this off to the extent that this HS coach does it, but w/ an Oregon or Boise type O, this strat could be used often.
